We walked for 9 hours to reach North Down Orchard, and it was worth every ache and pain!

We were greated by David who was welcoming and enthusiastic. We had booked on a whim, so knew very little about the place, and were pleasantly surprised by the facilites. The pitch availability on arrival meant that we were far away from other campers, which felt quite private. The bonus was being able to purchase some cider after a tasting session with David, who was the perfect host.

While I have a slight fear of dogs, the two on the farm were not bothersome, and actually very endearing.

As the cider barn is a Friday event and we were only there for a Tuesday night, we have vowed to go back, and perhaps upgrade to glamping. We didn't want to leave.

The only thing we disliked was that we only booked for one night!

The campsite is an a beautiful part of the country and David is an excellent host who is very knowledgeable of the local area and made us feel very welcome. The showers were hot and clean and the bell tent was brilliant. Plenty of space, comfort and security in the changeable weather. We were able to see the stars at night and buzzards, a barn owl, a deer and loads of butterflies during the day on our walks along the trails and through the orchards. There are some stunning beaches nearby and delicious pub food to be had in pubs that really welcome dogs. It was such a relaxing stay for us as a family and our son and dog loved roaming around safely in the surrounding countryside (with Raleigh and Scrumpy).

Beautiful quiet setting with amazing views of the countryside, David is great and gets you settled in and was a life saver as my pump wasn’t up to the job to blow up my tent 🤦‍♂️ loved the bar and the Cider brewery. Would love to have been there on a Friday evening when the club house and street food was open. Definitely stay again

Quiet , nice location , large pitches for tents

Freezing cold showers on both mornings of our stay. The cider barn was packed with locals so could not get a seat and went elsewhere

Location is so beautiful. We loved that the bell tents were in a partly wooded area and was lovely and quiet. Countryside all around, the barn is fab on Friday and Saturdays and we enjoyed the Friday night there with three young children, food, dancing and cider. All enjoyed it! Toilets and showers all good, esp hot showers! Clear skies both nights, saw all the stars while we were sitting next to our campfire.

First time camping with our toddler and another couple with their kids, loved it and already planning our next camping trip. Deluxe bell tent was huge, bed comfy, well equipped with kettle, lights and plug sockets. Camp kitchen very handy for fridge and sink, will use the cooking facilities next time. Lovely hot shower and toilets surprisingly bearable. Brilliant fun at the cider barn on Fri night with tacos and one man band. Grounds are very lush and tidy. Had some very nice walks including to local pub for lunch. Toddler, 4 and 7 year olds loved it all, as did parents.

Cider barn noisy til around midnight on Friday but this is a big drawcard for the site so you have to bear it or stay elsewhere and miss out on the fun. And people in nearby bell tents noisy on Saturday night. Shame not to enjoy the sounds of nature either night of our stay but probably the same at any camp site.

Kev was super friendlyand informative. We settled in to the Orchard during lashing rain but had a nice space to pitch in. The eco toilets were basic but well maintained.Showers were good and hit!
The tap room on the Friday evening was a real treat with a visit from a local food truck too.
The dogs loved the orchard and we even saw wild deer.
This site is in a great location surrounded by beautiful countryside and great access to some smashing places to visit, we did Lyme regis, Weymouth, Portland bill, Wildwood wildlife trust in Ottery St Mary, and each night came back to camp for another peaceful night (cept for the wind and rain).
I would highly recommend this site and will definitely stay again.

Tranquility and just a field hop to a cool social area (Cider barn) on a Friday :-)

Makeshift seating tent area by the toilets and bell tents not in keeping with ghe site but sure it's a temporary measure ;-)

Everything! My husband, myself and my 1 year old daughter had a lovely 5 night stay in a gorgeous bell tent. It was peaceful and a beautiful location. We felt so welcome and the staff were so accommodating and friendly.
There was the added bonus of a night in the bar for a cider and curry night which was great fun!
I would highly recommend this site to anyone!
