Showers not fabulous but did a job. Could have been warmer / one was not useable.
Pot washing facilities functional but cramped with only twin sinks and minimally warm water.

Really nice location, good pitches and the facilities were well maintained and cleaned.

We arrived on a Tuesday and the site was nearly empty which was lovely. We could pitch up where we wanted and loved the quiet! There were goats and sheep on-site and cows, sheep and llamas(?) in adjacent fields so the kids were mesmerised! Five Acres is a brilliant base for exploring the Peak District and we went on some really lovely and varied day trips, all within a half hour drive (Eyam, Padley Gorge and the B29 crash site in Glossop were our favourites!). The site was well-kept with clean toilets and decent showers with hot water.

The weekend got really busy (I assume it was at full or near-full capacity) which meant pretty lengthy queues for the pot washing station, showers and toilets at peak times (probably 8am-10am and 7pm-9pm). I did also try emailing the site directly about extending our stay before we arrived and didn't get a response (not a problem, I did it through Pitchup instead, but just a heads up if you need to contact them about anything directly).

The animals, cleanliness of facilities. Location.

The location is great and easy to find. Close to the Monsal trail and local amenities. The shower and washing facilities were adequate despite the site being busy on a hot, school holiday weekend. And despite it being busy, we found our fellow campers to be polite and respectful.

My overall impression of Five Acres was that it was at the 'pop-up' campsite end of the spectrum. A farm that is just diversifying a little.
The facilities although adequate, I think could be overwhelmed at peak times.
Hence, experienced campers will be savvy about the best time to take a shower.
Nobody greeted us on our arrival or acknowledged our presence during our stay. So we could have literally stayed for free.

There was so much space for us as we came the tail end of the weekend and stayed all week. Not so many on site on our week but come Thursday and Friday it started filling up. Loved the views over the fields with all types of animals. We pitched at the top of the main field near the goats for the view, and it did not disappoint. The mist over the valley was amazing to watch when the sun came out.

Warm showers and flushing toilets are always welcome.

We all loved watching the antics of the cows and llamas in the next fields.

We took a bit more time to pack up due to the size of the tent and it being damp of which the owners were okay with. Suggested time to depart is 11am and we left at 11:45am.

Over all no dislikes of the site, but this is just my opinion - potentially there is not enough facilities to cope with the weekend campers. Not that we had to wait long but for the amount of people they need a few more showers and toilets. Another freezer and washing up sink maybe?

Prices for firepit are expensive for one night hire. Some sites let you keep the pit all week and buy more wood etc when needed. We brought our own so used what we had left over from another trip.

On site shop is only open during busy periods so don't rely on it for stocking up.

Not the sites fault but someone decided to take an ice block home with them. We only came a few, which had our name on them and rotated them. However, someone decided to take one of our two and the bag they were in. 😞
Owners were shocked by this as much as we were. You just don't take something that is named.

Great site, laid back with good showers and facilities. Plenty of space even though site was quite busy. Thought fire pit charge was quite dear til I priced up logs and kindling at local services. Great that they allow fires and make available as great evening activity.

Nothing. Be aware that site is exposed if weather is inclement. Not that management can help this but good to know.
