Was very quiet and felt truly off grid.

No phone coverage at the site. but found I got a signal just up the lane.

By the river, very remote, peaceful and quiet, could swim and could have opted to use the sauna. Charles very helpful on arrival as he needed to help remove a fallen tree from the remote access road. I was the only guest with my two dogs which felt very special.

This was a great place to stay, especially with the sauna next to the river. The host was very friendly and accommodating and it was a pleasure to stay there.

Wow 🤩 LOVED EVERYTHING. Didn’t want to leave. Found a wonderful secluded pitch by the river…and swam every day followed by a glorious wood fired sauna.
Charlie the owner and his lovely wife couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. I left (reluctantly) (and after staying more days than originally planned) with a smile on my face and batteries feeling completely re-charged. Looking forward to when I can return already 😊

Had a fantastic stay over the weekend with the kids, great place to get away. The owner is a great bloke, very friendly and welcoming. Kids really enjoyed the river swims and sauna. They said it was the best camping trip ever!

Very quiet and beautiful.
Great if you are totally off grid.

Lack of facilities, especially water.
Friendly staff, however when offered to fill up our water bottle it took 3 hours on the first day and the second day we handed it over at 9:30 am and when we decided to leave early we had to go and find it at 5:30pm.

The location was beautiful and unusual - far off the beaten path - and the host is both friendly and goes out of his way to make sure you're happily situated.
It's more rugged than a lot of campsites but that's a boon if you're looking for something closer to nature and closer to wild camping (but still has toilets).
The main site is surrounded on all sides by mature trees and the river runs right along where I chose to camp. It was such a nice experience falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the river and the birds I stuck around longer than planned.
As a lone female traveller I both enjoyed my stay and felt safe and able to approach the host if I didn't.

The owner was really friendly, helpful and accommodating. It’s a nice location to unwind and take a break from technology as there is no signal, there were not many other campers nearby and there was the option to choose a more remote camping location if required. There were plenty of fire pits, trampolines and a hot sauna available all day.

Not a dislike, but a heads up that the site feels wild and rugged, as there are no showers and only one working toilet during our visit. There were plenty of fun things to do but not all equipment is brand new.

Wonderful location, truly beautiful. Incredibly helpful owner who couldn’t do enough to support. Lots of equipment to keep family entertained. Though we wanted a more private spot which was accommodated. The sauna was excellent and we’d highly recommend people get in the river to enjoy this. Have already recommended to friends and family.

It would have been useful to have a stand up washing up station eg a bowl on a table near the bowser.
