It was such a lovely site with friendly hosts and very good neighbours (cows and ducks in the fields behind) the shop onsite provided most things we needed for our stay, a very short walk to the local pub and a nice day out walk to Clarkson’s pub if you feel up to it, as well as only a 30 minute drive to Oxford park and ride. The facilities were different but very pro environment! The large pitches were great and the site was peaceful just a perfect weekend away. There was good cell reception but no wifi which to me was perfect to disconnect from a busy life.

Immersed in Nature, completely away from town life, very peaceful and great to escape, on a farm where kids could see animals up close. Communication very good and helpful with a later arrival.

I’ve just come back from my second stay at West End Farm Campsite this year, and once again it was absolutely fabulous. This site really does have a special charm about it – it’s simple, peaceful, and has that wonderful “off the grid” feel that makes you slow down and enjoy the countryside properly.

One of my favourite things about this campsite is the animals. You’re not just surrounded by nature, you get to enjoy lovely little interactions with the farm animals too. It makes the stay feel personal and different to your usual campsite experience. Even though we don’t have children, I couldn’t help but notice how family-friendly the setup is – there’s a sweet enclosed picnic area right next to the chickens, complete with different play activities and even a mud kitchen. It would be a dream for little ones to run around safely without parents worrying about passing tractors/ getting into the animal enclosures etc.

The pitches here are another huge positive. They are massive compared to many other sites I’ve visited – really well spaced out, which means you’re not on top of your neighbours and you’re not listening to other people’s conversations late into the evening. That sense of privacy adds so much to the relaxing vibe of the place.

In terms of facilities, you’ll find the basics: toilets, showers, and a sink for kitchen wash-up. They’re simple but exactly what you need if you’re after that back-to-nature camping experience. It’s not a holiday park with endless entertainment or fancy extras, and for me, that’s exactly the point – it gives you space to disconnect and just enjoy being outdoors.

One small but important note: the farm shop closes earlier on Saturdays (around 1–2 pm). If you’re arriving later in the day, be aware that you might not be able to pick up firewood or other supplies straight away. We got really lucky as one of the farm workers kindly fetched some wood for us when we arrived late, and we just paid for it the following day – which speaks volumes about how welcoming and helpful the staff are. That kind of thoughtfulness makes such a difference and is a big part of why I’ll keep returning.

The setting itself is stunning – beautiful countryside, peaceful surroundings, and no light or noise pollution to spoil it. It’s the kind of place where you can genuinely switch off, listen to the sounds of nature, and feel like you’ve escaped the busyness of everyday life.

Overall, West End Farm Campsite is an absolute gem. Whether you’re looking for a quiet couple’s break, a family adventure with space for children to explore, or just a chance to reconnect with nature, it has everything you need. I’ll definitely be booking again for next year – it’s become one of my favourite places to recharge.

Quiet, rural, back to basics campsite. Each pitch had a personal firepit for use. Warm showers and compost toilets, which were clean and always stocked with paper. The owner was very welcoming and provided a few hiking routes also, as well as access to a small fridge to store the bacon we purchased from the farm shop on site.

Such beautiful surroundings! The campsite has everything you need and the staff are so warm and welcoming.

It was very peaceful area and had a few nice places to take my dog for a walk. My son’s extended family his little brother and sister loves seeing the animals for the day/ evening.
