A track on the other side of the pitch led to a dumping area for garden waste with a busy road to the rear. A Very unsatisfactory pitch which would have been a two star pitch on any other site. This site had been classified as a five star camp site but obviously only applied to fully serviced pitches and not service pitches (electric only) When asked to be moved to a better pitch was told to make the best of it as other pitches were worse
We're glad you enjoyed the amenity block - there are 3 showers in each of the female and male blocks and even when at full capacity, we rarely have any complaints regarding having to wait or queue. As you yourself stated, the majority of the pitches are fully serviced so guests have the option to make use of their own facilities if they wish.
With regards to your comments about your pitch, I think you are being very unfair. We only have 5 electric only pitches (which is the pitch type you booked) and all of them are sited in the same area of the site which, yes, is adjacent to the road but we cannot move these pitches and relocate them - as these are electric only rather than fully serviced, they are priced accordingly. All 5 of these pitches are due to be upgraded to fully serviced over the upcoming Winter (no use to you now but please know that we are devoted to improving the site - but not everything can be upgraded at once and we have had to prioritise and plan as we have only had the site for approx. 5 years and are limited to our closed period to carry out improvements.)
As stated in previous reviews, we will always try to rectify any issues but as we were fully booked when you visited, there were no available pitches to move you to so this was not a possibility. It did feel like there was never going to be anything we could do to improve your outlook on your stay even though we tried to help.

I am used to camping, in my own tent that fully zips up and has an insect net for the bedroom. I now realise that Safari tents are open to the outdoors with many gaps. If you’re not a fan of slugs, spiders, moths, frogs and anything else that can crawl in, then maybe it’s not for you either. The shower block was fine, but I think I’m at an age where I like my own toilet in my accommodation. Again we knew this before we travelled. However, for £150 per night there are comparable safari tent experiences where a toilet is provided within the accommodation.

We can only apologise for the poor weather, but as you said, there is unfortunately nothing we can do about this and we are as frustrated by this as our guests are - we want it to be gloriously sunny too, it is Summer after all!
I think the comment regarding the slugs, spiders, moths, frogs is a little exaggerated - any camping experience comes with its fair share of bugs and wildlife but these rarely venture inside the tent unless it is left open...like any tent.
We value your opinion but to give us negative feedback for things out of our control or that you were aware of on booking such as the separate amenity block is rather unfair. We are in a beautiful area of the Snowdonia National Park with Bala Lake only a few minutes' walk away and with plenty of attractions that can be enjoyed in both nice and more inclement weather too.
