Good pitch, great site facilities - washrooms, shop, bar/restaurant. Had excellent meal first night there. Very friendly staff.
Great location.

No enforcement of dog control on a nearby pitch holder which made us and our neighbours with their young granddaughter very nervous. Chap had large dog which was noisily chewing a large plastic bucket as a game, not on a lead. Was very concerning but no staff around to ask to enforce dogs on lead rule. Could have ended in disaster.

Also some noisy neighbours who possibly are there regularly as there are some caravans and statics which clearly remain on site all season, and I think those patrons take a relaxed view on noise late at night! Not what I would expect of a family holiday park.

Facilities on site shower block has heated flooring nice feature for the cold mornings. Cute park area for the kids and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful would definitely go back.

The facilities

The bar staff didn’t serve us because they didn’t want to wash up any more glasses. Then served someone else afterwards.

The site was lovely and quiet, big open space for children to run around and play. Restaurant seemed good from the short time we spent there and the one evening of entertainment we saw was good.

The water in the bath kept draining away and wasn’t overly hot.
There was loss of water at the restaurant on one of the mornings which meant we couldn’t sit in to eat our breakfast we had ordered from there.
There was a 60th birthday party on the Saturday night we were there and the venue kept running out of glasses.
Not a huge amount of entertainment for the children.

Staff were soo friendly and welcoming.

BBQ pig pizza was the absolute best ever

Only downside was shower floors were sometimes a bit grubby but only from other users not squeejing after they used them

We stayed in the non-electric camping area of this large holiday park, which was basically a field with long grass encircled by trees. It was quiet and very lovely, and we could pitch wherever we wanted, and it was just a very short walk from the toilets, showers, laundry, sinks, and children's play park (which was just outside the field area, probably visible from only a few pitches nearby). Felt very safe there and would thoroughly recommend. Warm welcome, well-stocked reception / shop. Excellent communal showers / washrooms, etc. Wifi was even available in the camping field (at a cost) although we did not use it.

We were welcomed and given a map to our pitch was signposted qnd easy to find.
We are new at camping and did not have the correct plug for the electric point, my husband asked a member of staff who gave us a connection to use for the night. Everyone we met was very friendly.
Pizza at the pub was very good, tasty.
Good value for money.
Toilet block clean and nearby camp site.

Like other reviews have mentioned, there is a sister site called Ladram Bay that the car pass lets you visit. Here there is soft play, a large adventure playground, an outdoor splash park, indoor swimming pool, mini golf and a private beach. You have to pay for the swimming as a camper, which is fair enough but worth knowing.
The facilities at the sister site are great and look quite new. It's much larger and busier. The private beach has great rock pools at low tide.
We ate at both the restaurant at Castle Brake and at the sister site. Both meals were great. The meal at Ladram Bay we were sat right on the balcony with a sea view that was amazing.
Toilets on site were clean. Booking through here we had 'classic camping' which meant we didn't have a specific pitch number and could go anywhere in a large field. The field wasn't busy and everyone was quite spaced out. Play park at castle brake was good, although more tired that at Ladram.

Not a dislike per say, but with the swimming at Ladram you need to be ready to dive straight in and go right on the 15 mins slots. Our hour session ended when we'd only been in the pool 45 mins. Every 15 mins they dish out different coloured bands.
Water ran out while we were staying, but only on some taps, which was confusing. The restaurant did cope though and gave us a meal.

Lovely site, tucked out the way so very little road noise. Toilets and showers very clean and up to date. Staff very friendly and helpful. Onside shop very reasonable. Site is nicely laid out with lots of options for lots of different people. Such a nice site we're trying to convince the family to return with us next year.

Through no fault of the site, mobile signal is non existent, WiFi is available but is chargeable
