Family run campsite where the hosts are extremely friendly and genuinely want your stay to be as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.

Cleanliness of all facilities was impeccable. A tap was out of order in one of the toilets and immediately this was restored to ensure it didn’t affect those visiting.

The overall atmosphere of the campsite was one of relaxed and friendly and other campers felt this too.

Absolutely lovely peaceful campsite, very lovely people make you feel very comfortable. Very clean and well kept park. Clean facility's showers were beautiful decor and clean very well thought out with layout etc.

Every now and again, you come across and absolute gem of a site, Welcombe X is just such a place. Each to their own and chances are it's not everyone's cup of tea but this site suits us perfectly. The old adage of "We'd sooner not tell and keep it to ourselves" applies here but they really do deserve to be praised. It's a small, unassuming site with little on there, certainly not for the kids but if, like us you're capable of making your own entertainment and looking for a quiet site that is really just a base from which to travel out for the day like us, it's pretty much perfect.
The owner of the site "Ratty" as she's affectionally known and her mum, Mary (down to help out) couldn't have been better hosts. On one night we had 40-50 mph winds and asked if we could park our car on the empty pitch by our tent to help shield the tent from the wind. Not only did they oblige but Ratty and Mary also brought their cars around to help aide in the process too. Definitely above and beyond I'd say.
The facilities were kept absolutely spotless throughout our stay and the showers are electric showers as you'd have at home, so no pushing the button every 30 seconds to keep the water running. There is a 20 minute limit they ask you to abide by which is more than generous in our opinion.
Our kids particularly enjoyed doing the recycling on the site (especially the can crusher!) which is well set out and there's Bob's Bar. Not officially a pub but a great place to relax and enjoy a few drinks of an evening.
Pretty much on the border of both Devon and Cornwall it's ideally situated for travelling around the beautiful countryside of the area and very handy for Bude, Bideford etc.
There's also Wi-Fi on site, we didn't use it as we're fortunate enough to have good data contracts but it's there if you need it.

Having to come home, genuinely no complaints

We had a lovely visit shower and toilet was spotless and the owner where great very helpful would go again

Almost everything about this place is pretty perfect. The owners are so helpful and so friendly, and made our stay very pleasant. They really know how to run a. site well, and understand their customers. Well done!!

Slight traffic noise, but it was not enough to worry about

The site was absolutely perfect.Quiet,clean with amazing hosts Couldn't of asked for anything more.The showers/toilets were spotless Beautiful surroundings and will definitely be coming back.

Everything. Convenient location, Bude, Clovelly etc not far away. Easy to find and get to. Well maintained site and very friendly and welcoming people. I felt very at home

Wasn't clear where to do my washing up, perhaps a sign would be good.
