The whole site was amazing 50p for a long hot shower too. Walk right around the river from campsite our dogs loved it!

Nice quiet, clean and friendly site. Nearby pubs and nice walks. River paddling a bonus for dog. Will definitely visit again.

Chilled. River blunts everyone elses conversation. And thankfully, my wifes. Slept like a babi. Its a seriously serene joint

Great spot on a small well maintained site. We stayed on a super pitch with full facilities. The local pub is literally at the end of the lane, and the site is well positioned for both mountain and coastal exploration.
Andy, the site manager is really well versed in the local area, walking, and wild swimming spots, and was very helpful and polite.
This is a quiet site, even with families around, which is exactly what we were looking for, and is dog friendly.
The pitches were level, and on a serviced pitch this was a loose stone pitch for both the caravan and the awning with a strip of grass and a picnic table too.
The bathroom facilities are basic, but clean, and the addition of underfloor heating was lovely.

Warm welcome and information about the area. Gravel drive and hard standing pitch so no mud issues. Toilet and showers warm and spotless.

Great wifi most of the time and only had 1 hiccup on 1 evening and if that fails you can always go to the pub as they have wifi too

If you don't want kids and families walking by and hanging outside your door don't pick pitches 17 or 18 as sadly the people attracted to the site didn't give any consideration for other people or the fact that people were on these pitches
Also not sites fault but had 2 nights of a baby crying, so very annoying that people only look out for themselves

Lovely quiet campsite with large grassy pitch in beautiful setting by the river. Good pub close by so we could stay warm in cool early spring evenings and we ate there one night too. Shower and toilet block was clean and warm and even though there were only 2 of each no queuing necessary. Campsite almost full too! We had a great walk from the site along the river to Wasdale on one day. Lovely to enjoy wonderful scenery without having to get in the car. As well as the pub there is also a cafe a short walk away. Had the best toasted tea cakes ever, which are baked on the premises. They do takeaway coffee too, if you find, as we did, that you have forgotten to bring any! There's a dog friendly bit and a dog free bit so everyone is happy. I loved staying at this Campsite and will definitely return.
