The facilities are a little dated, but kept clean. The showers are powerful and hot. Not a problem in October but I imagine that things get in demand in the summer as there are only 2 toilets/urinals/showers (in the men's).
It's a 20-30 minute walk to Sawnton Morley along quiet lanes and the pub there (Derby's) is lovely and welcoming. You can also do a beautiful 3-4 circular hour walk from site - down the road towards Lying, then take the Wensum Way along Penny Spot Beck down to the the River Wensum, following it upstream to reach the stunning All Saints Church in Swanton Morely, and a pint!
