Unfortunately our hook up had no power and was one of 5 hook ups the same. Consequently we had no electric hook up all weekend.
The toilet block was under renovation and replaced by a small and cramped portacabin toilet block.
It comprised 2 sinks, 2 small showers, 2 urinals and 2 toilets one of which was out of order. The block did not appear to have been cleaned all weekend with campers traipsing in mud from the site.
Away resorts did not inform us of this change before we travelled.
Finally there was one sink area for cleaning pots which was without a roof so washing pots in the pouring rain was fun.

The nearby town of Moffat was nice as was the local Grey Mare’s Tail but not enough to attract me back again.

I can’t say we liked anything.

Tent pitch’s are on a slope and uneven ground, Grass hadn’t been cut, EHU more than 20 meters away, after reading other reviews we specifically asked if the renovations on the shower and toilet block where complete before booking, we were told all finished. It hadn’t even been started. Temp facility’s were in place, only cleaned once a day, never any paper towels, placed on muddy grass, no gravel path way leading up, so very dirty and slippy in wet.

The whole place just looks run down, mainly a static caravan site rather than camping, don’t be fooled by the pictures.

Lake looked like something from a horror movie.

Unfortunately we didn’t have good weather which made the pitch even worse.

Friendly staff, particularly the bar man in the club house, small but nice play park for children and lots of nice attractions nearby .

Site is more of a static home park and camping right in the middle of this when there could have been a great opportunity for campers to camp near the loch. Furthermore a Large group of teenagers allowed to camp on the Saturday night and were still partying at 2am.
Lastly toilet blocks closed so Porto cabins in place which were not great and we had to ask to be cleaned . Sadly will not return.

Amazing weekend. Most chilled out one we have had in ages. Really quiet and peacefull. Would recommend to any one.

More food options at the lakeside tavern.

The area was nice, short drive into Moffat we had a lovely cooked breakfasg at Mutchies Munchies! We also highly recommend driving to Dalscone park if you have kids.

When booking online we seen there was a playpark onsite for our daughter, however when we got there it was closed for works. The toilet blocks were also under renovation eith temporary toilets in place with no other facilities. We had to wash our dishes in the bathroom sink! We also were under the impression the lakeside tavern done meals, when we arrived we heard this was not the case. The grass pitches has been cut with piles of grass left, not ideal for toddler to play on and the tent ended up a mess inside. We were very disappointed and they really need to update their site so they do not lead people in with false expectations.

All pitches were on a slope, temporary toilets were not in best condition, no food was available in the Lakeside Tavern. Fishing in the overgrown pond was not possible and the shop had next to nothing in it.

Facilities were awful. No dish washing Facilities and to empty the chemical toilet you need to use the fresh water tap

The park as a whole was great. The reception on arrival was friendly and informative. Was close to town, had nice mixture of caravans lodges and tent/tourer pitches. Nice surroundings and well kept. The bar was quiet but friendly, enough to keep young ones entertained.
Very good site. Work is being done on the toilet block and washing facilities although we were informed of this on arrival and the temporary provision was more than adequate and very clean. Reception did inform us that they would do dishes in kitchen if required

The grass, although cut could have been cleared afterwards and not left in clumps around the pitches, but didn’t spoil anything for us, just would look better.

Nice campsite, toilets were a portacabin but nice and clean do no complaints. Site is on a hill so if you can ask for a level pitch or bring levelling ramps.
