Everything! The site was beautiful. John was amazing, such a lovely host and honestly couldn't have been more helpful.

Only teeny thing was there being no specific facilities for washing up. BUT there was a tap you could use and John was fully aware that he needed to put something in and was planning to do it asap

Everything! The location is beautiful, the site is absolutely pristine and the grass is immaculately well kept. John couldn’t be a better host, he is friendly and approachable and has a wealth of local knowledge.

Located on a working farm away from any major roads the Cayo Retreat is peaceful and has beautiful views of the black mountains.

Shower and toilet facilities are modern and spotlessly clean.

There is no shop on site but the pleasant village of Longtown is a short walk (approx 15 mins) where you will find a small grocery store and a pub. Longtown Castle is also a short walk away.

If you are reading this review looking to visit this area then you will not find a better site than this or a more accommodating host.

I have nothing to dislike about this location - it’s a sanctuary from the chaos of the outside world!

We loved everything about this site. An incredibly warm welcome from John, the site is beautiful beyond words and the shower and toilet facilities are modern and clean. Would highly recommend.

all of it great campsite kids loved the space and the rope swings, john was helpful and frendly

just check your route in google took us a bad way in, way back was alot easier with carvan in tow.

We had such a wonderful time. A quit place, wonderful view and very welcoming host. We really enjoyed the river, the mountain and all the fresh air that gave us a lot of energy to keep on with our busy lives. My husband even had a trip up to the top of the mountain. Hope to come again soon!

Very basic facilities - No options for food nearby with campsite shop closing at 2pm

Beautiful campsite with amazing views, 10 minute walk to a pub. Bathrooms (including showers) were clean and very new. The best thing about the place was John, the host. Amazingly friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

Nothing really, although if it gets more popular, they made need to get some more bathrooms.

Couldn't find a bin anywhere. Happy to take my own rubbish home but I have a dog and nowhere to put dog mess. I probably wouldn't stay here at busy times as I felt the plots were a bit too close together.
