Toilets need cleaning more regularly

It was a mostly quiet area at night. Nice a dark which was nice. And ok play park for the children to play on and the toilets and showers were super clean.

It was rubbish that the leisure club never opened untill 12 especially as its summer holidays. Not much to do around the park while waiting for that to open, they could do with having a separate arcade area thats open in the morning as well. The food is quite over priced for the portions and quality you get and only ate there as we forgot our camping stove definitely wont next time. They need more inside places for dogs as well especially as the Scottish weather is so unpredictable with rain. The shop could do with being better stocked with a wider range of stuff and maybe offer hot rolls in the morning since the leisure club isnt open.

Fantastic site. My kids love it. Have offered them somewhere different each year we’ve been. They want to go back. Have already booked for year 5.
A safe and very clean environment and very helpful staff. Cannot fault it in any way.

Toilets where nice but not kept clean,
Waited 1.5 hrs on my takeaway pizza from leisure centre.

Easy check in, explained how to get to pitch and given 2 maps. Well spaced out pitches. Toilet block just a short walk away.

The bar stopped serving food at 6pm on the Saturday night and didn’t know when /if it would start to serve and if it there were loads of folks in front of us so we might not get served, the nearest place is Kirkcubright for food so we had to go and get an alternative.

Lots of wasps flying about the outside tables, nothing seemed to be cleared away and the bin was overflowing.

You are told there is no free WiFi on site but in this day and age it really should be provided, the pitch is expensive without having to pay to get wifi

Road into the site is tight, glad we didn’t meet anything large while towing the caravan

Big playpark, good paths for scooters and bikes, lots of space.

Cleanliness wasn’t up to scratch. The floors in the toilet block next to the park looked like they’d never had a good clean since being built. Stained with urine and big clumps of hair stuck to the ground. I saw a cleaner spot cleaning with an antibacterial spray on the floor which is not good enough considering the amount of people using this toilet. The same bits of litter (a piece of half eaten cucumber in the men’s and a bit of used toilet roll on a radiator in the women’s ) lay on the floor for the 3 days that we were there.

Bins outside the toilets are overflowing all over the road and absolutely stinking.

Bin lorry’s and staff cars speed at around 30mph past tents with toddlers playing outside (on route to the leisure centre). Many other guests commented on this.

The swimming pool was basic and the kids enjoyed a swim but the cleanliness was again severely lacking. Plasters and hair all over the floor which had brown stains everywhere due to lack of cleaning. Pool was closed after we left because someone did a poo in it (at least they closed it).

We were told the restaurant was first come, first served and food started at 5pm. We went up at 5pm with our 2 young children and got a table easily because it wasn’t too busy. We were given a menu to look at but when we went to order we were told that they had stopped orders for at least 40 minutes due to a backlog of food orders. We chose to leave and go to Meleks in Kirkcudbright which was absolutely excellent.

Finally, for a campsite to be that jam packed full, it was very surprising to me that there appeared to be no security whatsoever. No barrier at the entrance and we didn’t see a warden enforcing any rules during the evening. Speeding cars, little children walking large bull breed dogs in the playpark without any adult about and bonfires being lit too close to our tent where we slept. With the recent sexual assault in a campsite up in Loch Ness, you would think that they would have at least one night porter doing walk arounds. The only security that I saw was a cctv camera situated inside the unisex toilet/ shower block. No signs to highlight this so very invasive and has potential for some serious violations of privacy.

The coastal walks are so overgrown and unmaintained that you can’t get to the shore on most of them. Only 2 paths are walkable. 3 are completely covered. The coast is stunning when you get there.

We have used hundreds of campsites dacross Scotland, the UK and Europe. This one has such great potential but isn’t being managed properly and is quite disappointing.

I was very excited to try this campsite as it looks to have everything you need. Unfortunately, the cleanliness and lack of maintenance really let it down.

Location was lovely next to the sea and 15 mins drive to Kirkcudbright, park was really good and a decent size as well.

Facilities are a bit dated and general up keep of the park needs stepped up. I'm not sure if it was the drinking water but my son was ill with sickness from Friday night and I on Sunday and my parents had diarrhea too. Restaurants had too many food orders on a Saturday and had told some back log of 40 mins and others that they'd ran out of food. Better management of noise after a certain time, more bin allocations. WiFi should also be included.

Very dirty place tiolets very dirty not cleaned properly also having to pay for swimming at £5.5o per adult on top off your fees count that up for week to dear lighting in park shocking bins a disaster area

Family bathroom available to use for tiny children, great big park area, clean toilets, nice wildlife areas and walks down to the beach, friendly staff

Hardly anything, bins were always overflowing next to park attracting wasps. Didn’t use swimming pool as thought it was poor value for money.

Lovely short walk to a beautiful rugged coastline

10, 000 feral kids running and cycling riot till turned 11pm,.across pitches and cables
Avoid the top area completely, absolute nightmare with kids left to run riot with no parental control!
I had severe words with a not so delightful young lady who thought it was ok to F & C and other delightful language in front of young children.
On hearing my " discussion" with this delightful young child , 2 fathers appeared and thanked me for " dealing with said young Lady "
I didn't feel safe on this site, we took everything in at night,
I didn't use the facilities, but my partner went to use the men's in the evening and came back to use our MH shower, he said they were in a right mess !
Thank God we we're only there for one night !
I raised the issues with a young lady on reception, this place has no security and is accessible from all routes, especially the horrible single track lane you have gain access by !
Not recommended for anyone who wants a peaceful stay.
