I have to agree that it is a trek up from the beach 😁, which would be so much easier if there was a footpath. There is a way back that keeps you off the road, but you have to be prepared to Zig zag a windy lane which adds 10 minutes to your walking time. Despite this and being exposed to the elements at time, it’s great that you would still return and recommend us to your friends.

We are sorry that your partner did not like the showers closing at 10.00pm. One of the reasons for doing this, is so that they can be disinfected and left over night, ready for a thorough cleaning in the morning. Another reason being, is that the shut off time compliments quiet time on site and encourages our guests to settle for the night. We hope that you will visit us again in the future and maybe stay in one of our pods.

Close to the campsite is a shooting range which sounds like gun shots. My dog was so stressed out and we had to leave the site early every morning and come back late at night. I spoke to a few other people who had the same problem with their dogs.You can hear the traffic all night and a tractor coming down the rd during the night. I became sick with lack of sleep and stress.
We have got burning logs upon arrival but the wood does not burn. This costing £17.50
The only goodthing about this site was the facilities.
It was my first time to cornwall and the place is very nice.
Would visit again but to a different site. I have been to many sites and never had problems with my dogs. It was so upsettng to see my dog in this way.
We also had issues with children riding there bikes around our tent. This would make my dogs more anxious.
Nothing wrong with kiddies enjoying themselves but this needs more control.People need to be aware of this.

We are at a loss as your dogs didn’t appear distressed when Mike asked you to put them on a lead, which is mandatory for all dogs on site. It was only then that you informed us that your dog was distressed. We have not had any other people come to us about their dogs, so are unable to comment other than by verifying that there was a shoot on the bank holiday Monday, which Mike told you about. Unfortunately we have no control over this, or over the road noise, but do except that you can hear noise from the road, which is more evident in the tourist season, which many of the local businesses rely on to exist.
With regards to children being where they shouldn’t, like asking people to put dogs on leads, which the majority of guests are happy to do, we do ask parents to take responsibility for their own children. Although I’m not sure how they could ride around your tent as you were on a corner pitch. Had you come to us at the time, we would happily of spoken to the parents.
With regards to your fire pit hire and the wood. You were refunded for the wood which you brought back and charged £13.50, not £17.50, which you paid by card. You had at the point of payment had the fire pit for over a week. We were not aware up until this time that the wood was not burning very well. We brought the wood in good faith and would not knowingly have sold it for people not to be able to burn it.
We totally understand that our site will not suit everyone and are sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay and find us good value for money. We do however wish you well in the future and hope that you will be able to find a more suitable site to meet your requirements.

On speaking to Jayne before our stay, she advised they place you in a pitch we were not aware of therefore let her know 2 days before we were due that we were staying with friends. They were able to accommodate our request at late notice to be pitched together which we were really grateful for.
I’ve not stayed at a site before that give you a pitch so was a little uneasy as wasn’t sure what to expect but this actually worked extremely well. All campers are placed around the edge of the field which gave the children onsite so much space to play in. It was really lovely to see the amount of families playing games.
Location was very good as not far from everything you want to see and/or do.
N'a pas aimé : Fire pits are allowed which was not an issue but it was very wet one evening so the smoke just lingered. Maybe fire pits shouldn’t be allowed at this point as everything smells even when you don’t have a fire yourself.

We take pride in our cleaning and have been ‘bowled over’ by the amazing reviews we have received this year about all aspects of our site, but especially the facilities and the friendliness of the Old Stables Team. 😄.
With the volume of requests we receive, we have to forward plan and allocate pitches up to 2 weeks in advance, or we would never be able to allow these requests, but are glad that you acknowledge that it works extremely well.
With regards to the fire pits, it is not normal practice for campers to have fire pits in the rain, as usually they are all inside sheltering from the weather and none get lit. We are sorry that the smoke lingered for you, but hopefully this is not a regular occurrence.
