Opted for Lake view pitch and were not disappointed. Excellent fishing at reasonable price. Toilets and showers short walk away but clean and heated. Very friendly welcome.

Thought the cost of pitch was rather expensive as not very spacious.

We recently stayed at this beautiful campsite and it exceeded all our expectations. The fishing lakes are fantastic, well-stocked and perfect for a relaxing day by the water.

The entire site is meticulously maintained, with clean facilities and well-kept areas that made us feel comfortable and at home.

The owners are truly the highlight of this place. They are a super friendly couple who clearly care deeply about their guests’ experience. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, lending us glasses, offering to drive us to the pub when we realised we’d forgotten food, and always being approachable and cheerful. Their passion for their campsite really shines through and adds a special touch to the stay.

We also loved the charming little shop on-site and the peaceful, picturesque location. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy nature’s beauty.

Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a more delightful stay. We’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a friendly, well-maintained, and scenic getaway.

A Small Modern-Day Frustration

While our overall experience at the campsite was absolutely fantastic, one minor frustration was the lack of local delivery options for takeaway food.

In today’s convenience-driven world, it’s a bit surprising that there weren’t any nearby services that offered delivery to the site. Of course, this is no reflection on the owners or the facilities themselves, they were incredibly accommodating and friendly throughout our stay.

It’s just a little reminder of how modern conveniences can sometimes be limited in more rural or peaceful locations. Still, it didn’t detract from our wonderful time overall!

Lyons Gate is a beautiful park, really allowing you to reset. The park owner was very welcoming and clearly took a great deal of pride in the park, and rightly so. It was was very dog friendly, there was a wooded area with dog poo bins provided. We enjoyed a lakeside pitch so my husband could fish. The lakes are so tranquil and exceptionally well maintained, as is the whole park. The pitch was level, with electric. Drinking water was accessible nearby.
The facilities were very clean and kept that way. Our two night stay was wonderful, all we heard at night was the sounds of local wildlife, a perfect escape and one to which we will be returning.

The staff at Lyons gate were very helpful they couldn’t do enough for us from best places to walk to expertise fishing advice. I would totally recommend a stay at Lyons gate to anyone. Cheers everyone and I will be seeing you very soon.

easy to find nice level hard standing electric site backing on to lake. Toilets, showers and washing up room very clean and tidy. The site manager was very friendly and welcoming. Stayed one night and would stay again if I was in the area.

Parking right next to the lake, the ladies loos, shower very clean well maintained. Lovely layout Roy was lovely & helpfully, lovely night away, will be back 😊

Peaceful pretty site surrounded by nature. Quiet location and some 30 mins from Weymouth sea front. Beautiful site.
