We recently stayed at Lanyon Holiday Park in Carn Brea and had a really lovely time.
The indoor swimming pool was a nice touch. It’s advertised as heated – and while it wasn’t particularly warm, because the weather was so hot during our stay it actually felt refreshing. In cooler months it might feel a bit chilly, but for us it worked perfectly.
One of the standout features was the huge dog field. It’s rare to find a campsite that allows dogs completely off the lead, and ours absolutely loved it. Having that space for them to properly run around was brilliant and made the park feel genuinely dog-friendly rather than just ticking the box.
The toilet and shower facilities were very clean and well looked after, which makes such a difference when you’re camping. You could see they were maintained regularly, and that added to how relaxed and comfortable the stay felt.
The children’s play area was another big plus. There are two trampolines and plenty of equipment to keep kids entertained – a proper park rather than just the basics. My daughter loved it and it was great to have something safe and fun for her on-site.
The site itself felt very relaxed and self-service. We didn’t meet the owners, but that wasn’t an issue. It just had a simple, no-fuss atmosphere where you’re left to enjoy your holiday.
The only real downside is that there’s no shop on site, and the nearest supermarkets are about a 10-minute drive away. That means a 20-minute round trip if you forget something, so it’s worth stocking up in advance.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend Lanyon Holiday Park. Between the dog field, the clean facilities, the indoor pool, and the brilliant kids’ park, it really stood out. We loved our stay and would definitely come back again.
