The campsite is always clean and well looked after. The common room is great with useful appliances and a TV. The toilet and shower blocks are clean and great to use at all hours of the day and night. Great use of paths and clear lighting as well. Friendly owners.

We wern't told on arrival on both nights there would be school children doing DofE. We were told to pitch up anywhere which meant we could have ended up right in the middle of school children if we wern't careful (who wern't quiet and were packing away at 6am to go hiking). This also meant their minibuses took upall the parking areas near our tents and one of the minibuses hit my car on reversing.
There is also a peacock on site that makes a racket around 3:30am to be aware of this.
The pitch spaces aren't necessarily clear or checked who is where. We paid for electric hook up and were told to just find a white box and hope our wires reaches. This meant that if you hadn't paid, you could probably still use one if it reaches and the only spot left for us was right on the Drinking Water tap - that everyone uses at all hours, right next to our tent.
As a dog friendly site too it would be useful to have a wash off area for dogs (I didn't want to use the drinking water taps or take them into the shower area).

Kipper's kabin, absolutely mint, we have camped at gillhead before but never stayed in the kabin. We decided to give it a try because of the bad weather forecast, weather that we seen ruin a young couples stay, they pitched up about 6pm last night, it rained horrendously from 7pm and by 9am this morning they had packed up and gone, the reason we rented the kabin justified sadly.

There's a rec room :-), and reception was beyond helpful. We had tent issues during a storm and they lent us a spare log cabin. Overall everything was nice as can be, pretty much.

The weather was truly terrible. This wasn't my first time in the Lakes. Technically, of course, this isn't Gill Head's fault.

The campsite was clean with excellent facilities. There was a playground for little ones as well as a communal room with a kettle, fridge and freezer. We will definitely be returning next year!

Great campsite, we loved it all the views, the location, the farm, the pitches and everything else, owner very welcoming and lots to do such as play area for kids, toilets really cleans and showers nice too we have already booked back up for next month as this was our first time camping as a family with a 4 year old

Few people when we were there were playing loud chavy music in the early hours but apart from that nothing
