Stayed in kipper cabin toilet on site could have been closer and could of supplied free logs daily instead at extra cost of 6 pounds 50pence per day ok for break could of been better dont go to local pub very expensive and poor quality food

Nice and quiet campsite, good facilities and a little shop with a good pub in walking distance which was ideal for the dogs as well

Great views we went on the back field and there was amazing views over the Lake District. Hosts were lovely and very accommodating and explained where everything is. You can purchase a fire pit and logs for £20 for the evening. 15 minute drive from Keswick and loads of walks nearby you can do.

Only slight downside was the noise from the main road. Only reason it wasn't a 5 star rating

The location of the site was easy to get to, especially when towing a caravan. A short drive to Keswick and Penrith if needed. The pitches were a good size, expecially as we have a Swift Basecamp where the awning attaches to the rear. The facilities were excellent and immaculately clean, we would definitely return to this site again. A very good communal area with a wifi connection if needed. Very good facilities for all types of needed caravan disposal points.

The electric hook up appeared to only be 6A, not an issue once we realised it was tripping, we just managed what was switched on and off, but may be an issue during cold periods when also trying to run a heater. The telephone signal is very poor or none existent, but thats not the campsites fault. The dog walking area was a little distance away from the camping and touring area, would be better if closer.

The reception sold out of fire pits quickly
The reception opening times are 9-11 and 3-5 which can be quite difficult sometimes depending what you’re doing

Dogs are allowed in the shower block !!!
Difficulty in getting in touch with owners

We enjoyed the view as you can look over at Blencathra and we had the most amazing views. It is equidistant between Penrith and Keswick. They were very friendly if we needed anything and the pod was warm.

It was not a problem for us but there is no mobile data or WiFi if that is soemthing important to you. There is no option for a double bed in the pods and you cannot move to beds as they are mounted to the walls.

Spectacular views, great facilities and a lovely welcome.
