Thank you for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. We don't advertise or offer the bar in our advertising other than bank holidays and advertised events. Where we can, we open the bar/barn when it rains to give campers shelter. At 2230hrs Ben checked the site and it was quiet. At 0200hrs I received a phone call from a camper telling me that a group of campers were making a noise. Ben returned to the site and asked them to turn the music off and go to bed. 20 minutes later Ben returned and TOLD them to turn the music off and go to bed - which they did. I apologize to anyone disturbed by this noise & behaviour - as did my mother who visited everyone on site the next morning. For anyone reading this who plans to visit, please call us if any unruly behaviour starts - we'll deal with it before it gets to 0200hrs. At 0900hrs the next morning, the unruly campers were got out of bed, supervised in tidying up and told to leave the site, return to Blackpool and never return. Sincerely Brian |

In the week that you visited, we had 80 families stay with us, this was the only negative review and we received a lot of positive feedback throughout the week. I appreciate all feedback, but please review us on what we advertise. We don't offer electric hook ups - we never have. For those interested, we live adjacent to a frozen food distribution centre who employ 40+ local people. The electrical infrastructure in the Yorkshire Dales is limited and our sub-station is at capacity. Electricity Northwest could give us more power, but it would impact their business and I won't do it. In due course, we'll install solar panels (when we get permission off the National Park) and that'll allow us to offer electric hook ups. With regard to water, there are 6 mains water taps on site. The main water point (with a hose) is at the entrance, next to the toilets. The review below recognizes that our team are around the site throughout the day, if you were having difficulty accessing water, all you had to do was ask. Sincerely Brian |

On the bank holiday weekend that you visited, 56 families stayed with us. No one has paid for a hot shower at our campsite this year - there is no charge. I can only conclude that you gave £3 to someone else - or maybe you didn't visit the showers at all and read last year's reviews to find something to complain about...? Everyone selects their own pitch on the campsite. The closest pitch to the showers is a 135 metre walk. The furthest pitch is a 280 metre walk. Of course, you also had the option to drive to the showers if this was too far for you. There is a sink with washing facilities in the middle of the campsite. You are correct, there are also 6 standpipes in the field with mains water. I don't know what you were washing, but if this wasn't adequate, all you had to do was ask us and we would have let you use our pressure washer. The toilet block contains porcelain, flushing toilets that are inspected and cleaned every 3 hours (and restocked with toilet roll)..... I'm uncertain what you want from a toilet? There is an aspect of personal responsibility. You booked a grass pitch on a grass campsite. It rained for the week prior to your arrival. Not one car or camper van got stuck all weekend. Yes, after a weekend of traffic there was a little mud on the tracks. If that was too much for you then might I suggest that a grass campsite in mid-May in northern England might not be what you are after....and if you are, you might be advised to delay booking until you can confirm the weather forecast. Comfort - I genuinely don't know what more you want us to provide. Notwithstanding everything mentioned above, we opened a barn when it rained with a bar, pool table and background music. The "nice guy" that you mention visited every few hours to ask if he could get you anything - and you didn't ask for anything. Sincerely Brian |

The weekend you visited there were 17 pitches occupied on the campsite.
There is a sink for washing your dishes in the middle of the campsite. As you say, we frequently visit the site and you didn’t ask where the sink was (it’s pretty obvious).
Regarding toilets, it appears that you are complaining the toilets are unisex. In the weekend you stayed, we checked the toilets 18 times - not once had the seats been wee’d on….in fact, they were left up on nearly every occasion.
There’s a tap directly outside the toilets for handwashing. The reason for no sinks is that campers were using them for washing and cleaning their teeth for 20 minutes at a time and other campers needed to use the toilet.
In summary, I don’t accept there was a problem with toilet cleanliness and 2 flushing, porcelain toilets is ample for 17 pitches when 6 of them are campervans.
Sincerely
Brian
