The riverside pitches had 3 porta loos, they were OK but ran out of toilet paper quite often, they did get filled back up but not till late at night. Beware if you pitch close to these you will hear the doors banging all night when people just walk out and let the doors swing shut, instead of thinking of others and holding the door to shut behind them, (not sites fault) maybe a notice on doors to say 'please close doors quietly at night'
The site owner came round at 10-10.30 every night which was good asking people to be quiet so people could sleep, sadly a few families turned music down or off while the man was around as soon as he disappeared the music went back on and laughing and chatting loudly continued till around 1am. again not sites fault just inconsiderate people.N'a pas aimé : No hand wash facilities at toilets, inconsiderate people ignoring rules, Riverside toilet doors banging all night.
Uneven pitches
With the low cost £25 for 6 people I think that's why there was so many people who didn't care about others.
There was a group of lads on the site who were smoking weed and again didn't care there was young children around, which is a shame.
On the weekend that you stayed we had over 300 people on site. Throughout the whole weekend, we received one complaint of noise in your field at 2200hrs and the noise was shut down by 2210hrs.
You chose your own pitch amongst 32 acres of farmland. If your pitch was undulating - it was your choice. Everyone who went into the river field that weekend had the option of going into the main camping field.
There were hot water running handwashing's facilities all weekend at the campsite entrance - clearly signposted. We walked the site and spoke to everyone at least 3 times every day and you never asked us where the handwashing facilities were.
I don't agree with your characterisation of hardworking people enjoying an affordable camping trip. I found the vast majority polite, kind and decent.

The reason we don't have sinks in the toilets is because it creates a backlog of people queuing for the toilet in the morning as those who do their make-up and clean their teeth take their time without a care for others waiting.
We put hand gel in the toilets and try to keep it topped up, but it disappears as soon as we put it in....it's an endless battle.
I've mentioned on previous reviews that it's very difficult to get planning permission for a campsite in Sedbergh, it took us 3 years and the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority were very clear that camping had to be camping - and not allowed to migrate into glamping and pampering. As such, we're very careful in how we advertise our facilities to try and manage customers expectations.
