Felt very private with a screened off area. Private decking, seating and use of a fire bowl. Surrounded by mature trees it felt as if we were in our own quiet spot of the world.
The yurt had plenty of blankets which we used for additional warmth, easily fitted in the additional blow up beds (one double and a toddler size). Yurt had several lamps for the evening along with a kettle, toaster and mini fridge.
We used the log burner on one night (logs can be purchased from owner) which was a nice touch and made it toasty. Yurt also had a plug in radiator which came in handy.
It rained horrifically one of the days but the yurt was big enough to keep the kids occupied. Listening to the rain was beautiful and the viewing roof let in plenty of light.
We were often visited by the chickens, which the children loved. The goats visited a few times. (Note keep yurt door closed or as owner advised place fire gate to block off entrance if you want to sit with the doors open) as one goat entered and got up to some eating mischief, we did learn from that moment and it’s now a memory that our kids will no doubt always fondly bring up.
The owner was available if needed, he was very welcoming and I’d definitely revisit. Great spot to visit Rye, Bodium Castle etc
Yes the paths get muddy when weather is poor but you’re not booking a hard surfaced hotel. The toilet block was always clean and water tap available. This is a quiet site to get away from it all. No wifi - then again that can be a blessing.
We loved it.
