Clear communication, nice and clean facilities, really close to local tourist spots

Weather was weird

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Pitch was perfect. The swimming pool was a quiet and easy to book. A really lovely site in a superb location Thank you

The location and helpful staff.

Lack of lighting around the site, especially around the touring pitches.

The pod was really comfortable and the ensuite made it a really great place to stay.
Not having to trek across a field in the rain at night for a trip to the toilet was lovely.
And the private shower was a blessing when trying to get the kids ready in the morning.

Pool shut a little early

The site was a really good set up, well equipped and well maintained. Lovely big play park and having the swimming pool was a great added bonus.

The pod was a decent size and beds and it was very useful having the private toilet/shower/washing up facilities right behind it. Was also useful being able to drive right up to it.

Great location with access to the Tissington Trail right on site.

Whilst it was nice having our own toilet, it was SO full of tiny spiders we barely used it! Don't mind having some on the wall but they were all hanging off the ceiling and was impossible not to end up with them all in my hair! Luckily the main toilet block was only a few mins walk, although that got closed because of a leak the 2nd night we were there, no ones fault, but a bit annoying.

The food van wasn't there all weekend as apparently they had broken down a few days before. Again, no ones fault, but I had specifically phoned to ask Friday afternoon if it would be there and was told it would be so we didn't make other plans for food that night, so that was frustrating.

We paid the extra £15 for linens which we got, the double bed was made up but the bunks weren't. Sounds petty, but was actually quite difficult to do as the mattresses were very heavy and the sheets not fitted, and just frustrating when you've paid £15 for a service.

Our bin was broken with no lid, not ideal for if any food is going in there, just asking for insects.

The site was generally really well kept and tidy but the porch could have really benefited from a quick sweep, quite dirty and lots of cobwebs. A few people had also decided to leave full dog poo bags by our toilet - lovely!

Shop was well stocked, but why are tampons kept behind the counter like some kind of elicit item?! Just makes it unnecessarily embarrassing having to ask them with a shop full of people and male attendant. Also not ideal that the main toilet block only has a bin I some (maybe only 1, I didn't check all!) cubicals.

The main annoyance however was definitely the heat! We arrived to find the electric heater in the pod was on. Baring in mind it was about 20 degrees outside anyway this was totally unnecessary and meant it was unbearably hot in the pod. We immediately turned it off but it just didn't cool down, and we couldn't leave the doors open long as would have been overrun by insects. Made for a very uncomfortable night's sleep.

All of these alone are really small issues, but together just felt quite frustrating, mainly because they would have all been really easy avoid.

Lovely site, very well kept and great location on the cycle trail to Ashbourne.
Pool was a great extra. We stopped off for 1 night to break a longer journey, we’ll definitely be back and will stay for longer next time.

Loved the facilities and staff.

Very friendly, safe and lots to do.

Having the trail close by leading to good pubs was a bonus.

Was a bit worried about lights out at 11 and no noise, but also understand.

We loved the position of the site in Ashbourne all the amenities on the site that were close by to our pitch which was of a generous size .
Polite and very helpful staff
Shower and toilet block were very clean apart from first thing in a morning but that was no fault of the site just the quantity of people staying and with a lot of kids.
Kids have a lovely sized park to play on plus a stocked shop for general shopping and treats
Unfortunately no WiFi on the camping side but no problem to us
Over all a fantastic site with beautiful views of the Derbyshire countryside

Just the extremely bright lights on the drive shining into the tent at the dead of night but even that wasn't an issue as such

Great campsite with easy access to the Tissington trail and central for visiting other towns. Hot showers and clean toilets. Swimming pool was great but it gets booked quickly so make sure to book when you arrive.
