Beautiful meadow and relaxed atmosphere. Loved the firepits and enjoyed exploring the grass paths avd saw hares, kestrels and a barn owl. Swimming in the lakes is incredible too... Just hope this place doesn't get too popular...

Loved the vast space and quietness of the site. Loads of amenities and the morning outdoor swim. Just lovely! We saw a snowy owl too!

The swimming lakes are fabulous - a really memorable experience to camp here and get to swim in the evening and morning. There is a lovely relaxed vibe to the whole place and the site is beautiful.

The big meadow for camping was great - with lots of flat space, a beautiful sunset and a barn owl flying up and down in the evening.

The showers weren't clean so I didn't use them - it would be a game-changer if this improved.

It would be good to have a bin for rubbish/recycling

There was an information board about the camping, but there is some groundwork taking place in front of the sign so I couldn't get close enough to read it, but I found my way around in the end.

Stunning, magical place. I was expecting something special from the reviews I'd read, but wow! Such a chill atmosphere too.

Friendly staff and a beautiful setting. Very clean facilities and a nice cafe for breakfast! Lots of lovely walks around and I will certainly be trying out the swimming lakes next time. The meadow had so much room for tent pitching without being too close to any other campers and the firepits are a nice touch.

This was a big open site. The meadow was absolutely beautiful a tucked away paradise at the back. The wild swimming looked incredible (I didn’t swim) and lots of people out and about! The proximity to York is what sold it for me - The Designer Outlet Park and Ride is just around the corner and takes you into the city centre for £3 plus it’s perfect spot for some outlet shopping.
(The Meadow is a long walk from the toilet blocks and bins not necessarily a bad thing but keep in mind)

The showers and toilets are in the car park which is extremely dusty and are shared with all the local swimmers so the floor was almost always covered in mud and dirt. I never actually met anyone and the signs indicating where to park are right in a construction area it took me a minute to locate them
