good sized pitches nice and friendly staff .

Hi and just a note on our stay that we had this 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend, so simple as nice clean and friendly site, any questions all answered and made to feel right at home and everything as you would find to expect things.

1 grumpy fisherman as walking around the lakes and I wasn't doing anything wrong, think he must of had a short...Rod lol

The fishing was a highlight for the whole family, the bathroom and facilities were very clean. The bait shop was very well stocked and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. On the Friday we went they had a pop up pizza take away, pizzas were delicious. highly recommend Makins fishery. will be going back again soon.

big spaces peaceful, friendly staff, lovely cafe , walks to the nearest village couple of lovely pubs

couldn’t get water hot enough but that’s just my opinion

Plenty of pools

Electric hook ups are an absolute disgrace falling apart , that's if they work at all,
Nothing to do what so ever, Cafe only open until 2pm, so don't go unless you are into fishing, just for reference if using Sat Nav don't just put in post code or you will end up on M69, Which then tells you have reached destination, looking around we found the camp site runs right along the said motorway. Needless to say constant traffic noise was both day and night. Having reached camp site eventually, the receptionist told us being sent on M69 happens on a regular basis

Site was a good size with separate field for electric and non electric pitches. Toilets were cleaned regularly, although I didn't use the showers they were a good size and in their own rooms with space to get changed in and hooks for clothes/towel. Entrance
was a gate with code that closed in the evening making it feel safe

There wasn't anything I would say I disliked but I would say that there's a few things I would add.. a drinking water tap in/nearer the non electric field and to not have the chemical disposal next to the washing up area.

Widely spaced rows of pitches.
Excellent shower rooms (not tiny cubicles).
Much wildlife (ducks, geese, swans) around fishing lakes.
Quiet rural location (nearby motorway was barely noticeable).
Cafe offering decent breakfast at a fair price.

Water taps had a thread (something I've now added to my list of things to keep in my campervan).
The giant toilet roll in one cubicle was on top of the holder (presumably because someone had lost the key to open the holder!).
Otherwise excellent showers need a shelf to put your shampoo/shower gel upon (I had to use the floor).
Some signs pointing to the cafe from the camping field would be helpful.
