We thought the site was a little run down there was a lot of washing up empty bottles and DIRTY sponges all over the grass by the washing up sinks … we noticed a few rats in the trees trying to eat the rubbish that people had left all over the grass …
A person out of or party group had twisted there ankle on the grass as there a lot do deep holes in the grass that are covered with grass and you can’t see so a trip to a&e with that person on the way home as there ankle was like a football due to falling in a hole in the grass that we couldn’t see because of it being so pitch black at night would be good for some tlc on the site including lighting and somewhere and somthingo for the kids to do rather then being allowed to play football and booting the ball at peoples caravans
I think the site could do with a updated and a good deep clean and maybe update your rules because it sates NO FIRES but when visiting the shop it advised you can hire a fire pit from you in the shop for £20 deposit and £20 to hire even though it states no fires in the rules
Really enjoyed our stay & a great place for our first ever camp!

On the Friday night, a member of staff was driving round to tell everyone about a little get together down at the cafe/bar with a stone-baked pizza stall there too. We popped down & really enjoyed it… the pizza was amazing! Used the cafe for lunch on the Saturday & the food was very reasonably priced! Checking in process really simple & if you have forgotten anything, there is a large selection of products available in the reception shop (e.g. food, drinks, medicine, toothpaste, cleaning products etc). A great place to go for our first ever time camping with the children & really good value for money. I’m not sure if they had WiFi in cafe but we naturally didn’t have any on the camping field so can’t rate that.

There are some football posts & a large field near the campsite to play on & I do appreciate this campsite is primarily for fishing weekends, but I think it would be improved that tiny bit more by having some swings/climbing frames etc. Is located next to a road so if you camp along the bushes you can hear cars going past throughout the night & can hear a dual carriageway that is nearby in the distance, so if you’re a light sleeper this may affect you. (It didn’t bother us or our small kids one bit but just worth a mention).

The toilet block is regularly checked and cleaned throughout the day, including a deep clean every morning. Unfortunately, being a small campsite, we can not have a dedicated cleaner for just the toilets and if someone comes in after they have been cleaned and makes a mess, then this may not be seen for a little while after. We always strive to keep them as clean as possible!

I know when the photo was taken of the bins, as I cleared it up myself. The bins at the bottom of the campsite were not full but these had, frustratingly not been used, and rubbish dumped around the other bins. It was also bin emptying day and this was all gone soon after.
The campsite is near to a motorway and not something we can help. There will naturally be some noise but is not a problem for most people.
The toilets are checked regularly thought out the day and they are cleaned even if someone forgets to tick the sheet. There will sometimes be a build up around the drainage point as this is where all the excess dirty water is swept. They are certainly not horrible or dirty.
