The best, as always!
Horam Manor Country Park is definitely in our top 3 touring sites. Starting with the warmest of welcomes from Steffi and her hardworking team, it's like coming home.
There are generously sized, well kept pitches, all in a pleasant country setting. The site is quiet and peaceful, with low lighting which means a clear view of the beautiful sky at night. Listening to the owls hooting is a treat. Alongside the site is a lovely big recreation ground, perfect for a gentle stroll or dog walking, and the recently laid all weather perimeter path is a godsend for us dog owners! But, should doggos still get muddy paws, never fear...the site has a dog wash area, where the offending mud can be hosed off. A green and pleasant 5 minute walk from the site gate is Lakeside Cafe, which is excellent. Delicious breakfasts, lunches, and the most scrummy Sunday carvery, all presented by friendly smiley staff (note: closed Monday and Tuesday)
Nearby is the Cuckoo Trail, a former railway line now transformed into a tranquil walk through to Heathfield one way, or Polegate the other. On the way to Heathfield, you might divert down a little path and visit the dog friendly Run In Tun pub for a drink, or a good meal in their fabulous terraced garden.
Horam village itself has all you might need. A Co-Op, chemist, hardware shop, vet, dentist, Dr's, hairdressers, a reasonably priced fuel station, and a very good chip shop!
All in all, a stay at Horam Manor Country Park is highly recommended by myself, my hubby, and our dog as being one of the nicest places to go for a relaxing, friendly break.
