Parents do need to go with their children to these park areas. I was looking forward to letting my older children independently go to the park with myself feeling at ease about this. Only a toddler play area is on site. Pitch 60 was on a diagonal slop making large families slip and roll down on top of each other in the night. No matter what angle you pitch the tent gravity would pursue. Off ground campfires not allowed. It was rather chilly in the August evening without having a campfire to huddle around and toast marshmallows on. A 13 year old is charged as an adult to stay.

Family camping trips to family sites do bring inherent issues - such as young babies crying at night. The whole site is on a very slight incline this is true. However, had we been advised that P60 was not a good pitch for your family, we would have looked at possible alternatives. We have a strict NO FIRES / NO WOODBURNING policy that is widely published and indeed would have been mentioned on your booking confirmation. Most of our visitors book Horam Manor BECAUSE we do not allow fires. BBQ pits emit enough heat to huddle around and they melt marshmallows too. But they do not emit embers that are intrinsically damaging to tents and awnings. Re the charge for teenagers, teenagers tend to use as much water showering as an adult, hence the charge.
