The site is impeccable and the staff are super friendly and helpful. Good sized pitches, clean facilities and quiet. We stayed with my 8 year old nephew (who’d never camped before!) and our dogs and it was perfect for us. We had clear skies and the lack of light pollution made for amazing star gazing.

Showers were hot and powerful and the block was always super clean. Pitches were well-proportioned and fairly level.

There’s a big play area 2 minutes walk away (attached to the village hall) and plenty of space on site for our nephew to let off steam. Really close to the cuckoo trail too which is great for safe, traffic free cycling and Horam has a Co-op for anything you need.
Wilderness Wood is also nearby which was good for a walk and an explore (lots of dens and wood houses to hide in!).
We didn’t use them but there are frequent buses to Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne from a stop 2 minutes from the site.
We will definitely return as just the two of us. There’s so much more we wanted to do and the site is the perfect base.

I’m being picky but some might think the bathrooms are a little dated. They were scrupulously clean though and always well stocked.

The layout and facilities and location.

The closing of the gate between 10:30pm and 7am. By the time we arrived and set up we were late going for dinner and by the time we got back we couldn't park the car near the trailer tent because the gate was locked.
The charge of £2 per visitor. It is the first time we have come across this and it seems excessive to charge for visitors when people are paying for a pitch.

Beautiful site, friendly & helpful staff & great amenities.

Unfortunately we left a day early as the other families onsite were screeching & shouting until gone 10am. Appreciate they can do this until 10.30 but to not even ask your children to tone it down a bit, is just selfish. Do not stay at pitch 74 if you need your children to go to sleep earlier than 11pm! Great in the day time but children playing outside because of the lighting then being ridiculously loud & riding bikes ditch flashing lights all over the place & people washing up gone 11pm at night & then again at 6am in the morning. Just no respect for other people around them. We think 10.30 is too late a time got quite time & even then, people were drunk & gone past midnight being loud. Cant let anyone know as no reception either. We’ve camped a few times but this was definitely the worst! Playground was also disappointing - needs updating really. Pre book horse riding beforehand. I can’t see that it said this but you need to. We won’t be back unfortunately but recommend if you don’t mind noise until late in school holidays. We’ve lost money because of this.

Lovely large pitch … great facilities. Very friendly staff. Few issues with our electric in our van and they helped us and loaned us another hook up cable for our stay! Lovely restaurant nearby and large green area and park/ skatepark walking distance. Quiet site so no partying until the wee hours which is perfect for us . We hadFab stay and will be back

A lovely community atmosphere where the kids were safe to run free.
This site really had a family feel to it. The kids made the most friends they’ve ever made and the staff were fantastic with my 5 year old, who discovered a new found independence by riding to the onsite shop with his pocket money to buy snacks. Thank you for making us all feel so welcome.

Family friendly campsite, clean and convenient amenities. Best hot shower we’ve had on a campsite in a while!
Enjoyed the short stroll past fishing lake looking at the ponies and perfectly distanced playpark/ skatepark/ recreation ground up the lane.
Nice quiet nights despite busy with families, even with our 12 week old!
Great long weekend.

Shame Horam Manor walking trails were closed but no fault of the campsite!

Only suggestion is to mount one of the hand wash dispensers in the toilet block lower on the wall so it’s easier for younger kids to reach

The campsite was set out really well and we were lucky to go when it was quite as pitches seem quite close together and I can imagine it's quite noisy during busier times. Staff were friendly and helpful.
