I stayed with a friend and a dog in pod.

Positive: very beautiful, charming and authentic place to stay. Owner very friendly. Old-fashioned in a good way.

Negatives: The bunkbeds are too small for adults, so we ended up having to share the double. The pods needed a good clean under the beds and the vegetation needed pruning. The pods are very close together and we were lucky that only one other was occupied as I think it would have felt too busy otherwise. The facilities are basic but good - although a bit of a walk and you can't park near the pods to get the luggage there. I've stayed in similar accomodation with better facilities for less, so I think £70,- per night plus the extra charge for the dog was quite steep. I would camp instead if there were a next time.

Environment, space, location are all great. Facilities of kitchen, toilet washing up as mentioned and well maintained.

My son and I spent three nights at Harford Bunkhouse and Camping as part of our regular summer trip to Dartmoor. It provides a convenient base for walking on the southern parts of the moor.

The peaceful site is gently sloping with excellent showers and toilets and a good washing up area.

As last year, we were amused by the sheep who randomly appeared in the camping field and, in particular, by the small flock of guinea fowl whose group behaviour had a wonderfully organic and sinuous quality; the peacock provided a touch of elegance.

I suspect that we will be back:).

Large field with room to space out, peaceful surrounds, great location for Two Moors Way and Dartmoor. Clean bathrooms and charging point.

Good facilities, wonderful views of the national park. Lots of farm life around including sheep in the camping field 🙂, as well as bird life in the surrounding trees and hedgerows. A very chilled place.

As other people have said the camping field is sloped. However I was able to find a reasonably flat pitch and had no problems sleeping.

I have been twice before and love the quietness/views. The showers just the right temperature and clean. This time except for Duke of Ed in next field and bunkhouse we had the place to ourselves. Easy to get onto the moors and to cycle down to the train to go to Plymouth/Cawsands/Whit Sands etc. Train runs every hour and if you drive down parking is free.

Peace and quiet. Old school camping field. No pitch sizes and simple fees. No caravans.

Could be, but wasn't on this occasion, a challenge to find a level pitch.

The site was out the way and beautiful. Winding lane lead you to the site and made it feel like you were in the middle of nowhere. However only 5 mins or so from the town. Showers and toilets kept clean and the showers were lovely and warm. Enjoyed the farm birds on site it made it feel like a farm experience

Only a one night stay and in rather wet weather, but seems a nice basic site. Camping area is on a slope but there were enough "flattish" pitches when I was there. Enjoyed watching the sheep with lambs grazing next to my tent and seeing the Peacock strutting nearby.

Quite a few BBQ areas are provided (too wet at time of my visit to try out)
