Loved the location. Village life, right next to The Ouse walks, and a super walk to the furthest inland lighthouse and RSPB sanctuary. Dogs welcome, and welcome in the pub, but, natrurally not the restaurant area. Great atmosphere in the pub with good value prices.. Really friendly, helpful and obliging staff all round. Camp owner, manager and overseer Andy is great. Instant replies to SMS. Food in the pub us top.
Showers are in cabin 6, pound coins required. £1 gives 2 minster of hot water. Loo block and baby change has hot water. Children's play area at the top of field. Easy access for dog walking. Dogs on leads at all times.
Loved walking down the village with my dog....fresh eggs, jams and apple juice available on the Street to buy. Whether its an overnight stop or a few days, this is a super Yorkshire Pub small and personal site to stop at. We camped February 2024. Lots of flooding about, so not great for tents at the moment! But enjoyable stay. Yes, we will return.

Easy to find nice quiet site amenities clean and fresh

Quiet site not too far away from Goole and Scunthorpe, 10 minutes drive to Goole and half an hour to Scunthorpe. There is a direct bus route to Goole, I can't comment on buses to Scunthorpe, purely due to lack of knowledge or research. Taxis will be readily avaliable mind you, or you can hop on the bus or taxi to Goole and jump on the train to Scunthorpe and surrounding areas. The site was good sized and was exactly as advertised. The toilets were clean and attended to daily and the shower block was spotless. I received an informative text upon booking fully outlining relevant information along with the pub opening times and events. The river Ouse runs parallel to the site and provides a lovely walking route. I had stupidly got myself into a muddy situation and managed to get the motorhome stuck in the grass - I had driven too far onto the field, whilst preparing to reverse into the pitch. I had contacted Andy and explained to him my cock up - Andy was happy to come and tow me out (sorry again!!). The pitch was level and I can imagine a good atmosphere at the site within season.

I was a solo traveler, stopping over for a couple of nights on my way back home after working away for a week - I didn't go into the pub as I still had food, etc left over from my week away and I was happy just to do nothing and chill. From what I can comment on, I look forward to returning again with family or friends and spending a night or to in the pub - hoping to tackle a carvery and the pub quiz on a Sunday. I will recommend the site to others the owner was extremely helpful, was easy to contact and speak to and everything was as expected.

I can't comment on Accommodation, Facilities/Activities (although facilities and activities are avaliable), Child friendliness (there is a swing park at the site for the kiddies) or WiFi - purely because they weren't utilised and I was a solo traveler.

Thanks again - I look forward to returning. A great local site for me to visit if I'm looking for a few days away from reality.
