This was our second stay at Dagger Wood. We love the feel of wild camping in the forest. Simple but clean facilities and a fantastic price. Always a peaceful night of sleep and beautiful birdsong in the morning. Never felt too close to any other campers.

Not really a dislike but the eco toilets do take a little to get used to! Staff did come and check them everyday.

My son and I spent a wonderful night in Dagger Woods, the pitches are perfect, campfire, excellent facilities (water tap and compost toilets) for that 'wild camp' feel. Henry is always available for any issues. The logs are hardwood and sustainably sourced, so ideal for camp fires. The wildlife is abundant: fallow deer, badger tracks, screech and tawny owls. The 40 minute walk to the Hunters Rest is a must do (bring wellies if it has rained), and the bookshop/caravan is well stocked. We did not want to leave, and will be back!

Nothing to dislike if you appreciate back to basics camping

What a great little camp site. Simple, but top quality showers and toilets. Beautifully kept, good size pitches and all in a great location to explore Cornwall. 10 mins walk to a lovely pub and a bus stop to Redruth and Falmouth.

Privacy of each pitch, beauty of the site with old oaks and an abundance of blackberries. It was also full of life.

This is properly basic camping, best thought of as wild camping with some basic facilities added, with the campsite located off a tiny dirt track which drops down from a small country road.
The different pitches are clearly signposted and shown on an overview plan, with the pitches being quite well spaced out, so that there is good privacy between the pitches. They range from some which are very secluded in shady woodland areas, to others which are in more open grassy locations, but all are nice and private.
The owner of the site, Henry, was friendly and helpful without being overbearing, so we were very much left to ourselves to enjoy the site. The main thing to be aware of is that the facilities are extremely basic, with a cold tap and cold showers which are just off the carpark. There are no plumbed-in toilets but the compost toilets on site didn't smell and everything seemed to be well-maintained, so if you're okay with the basic amenities then this is a lovely site!

There is a small amount of background noise from the A37 and, in the daytime, noise from overflying aircraft. Didn't really bother us but could bother someone who is particularly sensitive to noise.

How each pitch had it's own space and felt secluded. We stayed at one of the closest pitches to the car park/showers/toilets and it was a very short walk, which was a pleasant surprise. Teen enjoyed the gym area and trying to lift the stone challenge! Really quite and really pet friendly - we didn't bring out dog but would like to visit again with the dog! Bac to basics camping, nice to get away from the hustle and bussel and live simply! Such a bargain price! Really great value! It's very honest about what it is - wild camping - and you just can't fault it.
