A aimé Lovely quiet and friendly campsite. Pristine shower and toilets. Good to have a fridge and charging point too. I will definitely stay again next time I’m in the area.

A aimé Absolutely loved staying here! Our first time camping and we couldn’t have been happier over the weekend! Huge field with nice soft grass to play in, a good distance between people who were all so friendly. A while after we arrived Nigel or John came over and was very friendly/helpful. We were very pleasantly surprised with the toilets and shower as they were so clean and the shower was lovely and hot! There was a separate shed with a communal fridge/freezer, charging stations which felt very safe to use. Really good disposal system for rubbish, recycling, hot ash. There was a drinking water tap which was very useful as I’d forgot to bring bottled water! Overall really happy and will definitely stay here again next time we visit! In my son’s words “Definitely worth the 4 hour drive” 🥳🤗

A aimé Lovely clean facilities.
Bottom field is a lovely open site but the way the grass has been cut makes for it not feeling like a totally open field that people camp around the edges of.
There were only 2 other campers there when we stayed the mid week June night.
Not having to be off site in the morning meant we could do an early start to appreciate low tide and fossil hunting before returning to pack away the tent.

A aimé We love Penn farm. Its our second stay. What we love is the views, the secluded spots for the tent, the open space, people are not on top of each other. The new toilet block is top notch for being cleaned regularly, same as the sink area, we love that parts are bring left for wildlife. Beautiful kept site, its such a relaxing laid back site.

N'a pas aimé We stayed during the second week of June with a dog and the amount of ticks was unreal. Every time the dog went outside to go for a walk she’d return covered in ticks, at least one each walk. She’s given medication to repel ticks and they still landed on her. We resorted to not allowing her near long grass and the ticks still persisted. What was supposed to be a five night holiday turned into a two night holiday after she kept being repetitively bitten by ticks (we removed approx 4 in the 2 nights we stayed). I’ve been camping for many many years and I’ve never experienced this volume of ticks before.
As a side note you can also hear the road despite reviews saying it’s peaceful and you can’t hear the road, it’s untrue there’s a fair amount of road noise.

The rest of your review seemed strange and unfair.
You were pre-warned that ticks are active in SW England in the pre-arrival email. Nobody else has mentioned ticks and everyone living locally has dogs as we do with no problems (I suggest you buy a better quality tick repellent). Anyway there's nothing else anyone can do.
With regard to road noise it's unusual to get wind from the road direction and also there's nothing we can do to change the direction.
PLEASE read all other reviews because this one is unfair.
