Just outside the boundary of the New Forest National Park, Sopley Lake Camping is a pop-up site based on a pick-your-own fruit, flowers and vegetables farm five minutes’ drive from Bransgore in Hampshire. This may be a pop-up site, but there are plenty of amenities: you can pick up takeaway hot pastries, cakes and coffee at the on-site bakery and other goodies at the farm shop, and a communal firepit and barbecue area are yours to use. If you’re just not into alfresco cooking, you will be relieved to know that there are several pubs serving good evening food within 10 minutes’ drive. There is a play area with picnic benches outside the bakery, and colourful fields of cut-your-own flowers to view while enjoying a brew and a pastry. With the New Forest only about five minutes’ drive away, you'll have easy access to all its cycling and walking networks.

Ce camping offre un cadre rural paisible avec vergers et champs, un lac magnifique et des hôtes accueillants. Les clients apprécient le lieu, l'atmosphère sereine, la ferme-magasin et la boulangerie. A aimé Lovely setting, pitched up amongst the apple trees. It’s a quiet site with a small bakery and shop just across the field.

Clean around the pitches.

We sat and watched the bats at night - really lovely!

N'a pas aimé Toilets - three mixed cubicles, one was out of order. Not modern or particularly clean. Paper towels or a hand dryer would be better than the hand towel provided.

Shower - one single shower. It was lovely and hot but not powerful.

A aimé Quiet campsite, the on-site farm shop was really lovely and it’s an easy drive to the beach and Christchurch.

N'a pas aimé Showers were either scalding hot or freezing cold, no way to adjust them. Campsite is not easy to find using Apple Maps as the farm location is half a mile up the road from the campsite, although check-in info is helpful there’s no info about the gate’s “false lock” and owner seemed annoyed to receive a query call about this.

A aimé Views and location were stunning.
Other clients on the pitch were friendly and it was a nice vibe.
Campsite owner was really friendly.
Children’s park available to use.

N'a pas aimé A little too basic for us, only 2 toilets and 1 shower, they were a bit of a walk away from the pitch meaning I had to leave my children unattended if I needed the loo in the night.
Pitches had to be close together and were first come first serve.
No washing up area/dressing area.
No office on entry or anyone to greet us, had to fend for ourselves.

A aimé The campsite was spacious and had a rope swing that my daughter loved and won’t stop talking about.

N'a pas aimé The wash up area was damaged and unusable however not the greatest issue.

A aimé The surrounding area is wonderful and access to the farm shop is lovely! Hannah is also a wonderful host (and her kiddos are the sweetest). Lovely place and the kids loved the tyre swing.

N'a pas aimé The showers and toilet in the same room just meant a lot of waiting around for toilet access when the showers were being used. The water was also reallyyyyy hot so temp control would be better.
It would also be nice if there was a more designated spots for bookings as we had people way too close to us for our liking when there was more space they could have moved into.

Attractions à proximité

There are numerous family walks and cycle rides within the New Forest National Park (five minutes’ drive), like strolls through ancient woodland to Matchams Viewpoint (15 minutes), or a bike ride along former train tracks on the Old Railway Trail (10 minutes). Keep an eye out for grazing New Forest ponies and red deer too. If you don’t get lucky with the wildlife, you’re assured of seeing some at Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary (25 minutes), where you can feed the fallow deer. Liberty’s Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre (10 minutes) is another good bet for kids, with its falconry displays and reptile house. Petrol-heads will want to see the vintage buses and racing cars at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu (35 minutes) too. Christchurch has historic quays and two castles to explore, while Burley (both 10 minutes) has a long history of witchcraft and smuggling; you can browse several shops selling occult-related memorabilia. If you fancy sand between your toes, head for Bournemouth (15 minutes) beach or the long expanse at Sandbanks (35 minutes). Harbourside Poole (35 minutes) has lots of seafront pubs and restaurants, plus a lively vibe at the weekends.
