N'a pas aimé We book this campsite because fireplaces and bbq was allowed on time of booking. Unfortunately after arrival, rules was changed without any information passed to us: so we cannot setup any firepit/bbq device.
It was rainy week, still was raining, ground was soaked and more rain in forecast.
I try to contact owner, is any changes to no fire policy due to rain, but we do not get any response, nobody pick the phone. So i left voicemail message.
After another 20 minutes waiting for call back, we left the site, because we do not wanna sit on field in rain without fire.
Still, after 2 days of initial message left to owner (on voicemail)
Lost money and chance to camp. Misadvertized.

Réponse du gestionnaire : We’re sorry that the national fire restrictions came as such a surprise.
To clarify the very basic point: fires and BBQs were prohibited under the national wildfire restrictions in place at the time of your stay. These are not rules we can simply switch off because it happened to rain overnight.
The restrictions were clearly stated on our website and, importantly, on Pitchup — the very booking platform you used. The reason for the restriction was also widely publicised, so unfortunately this was not some secret rule we invented after you arrived.
We appreciate that seeing rain may lead someone to assume, “It’s wet, therefore there can’t possibly be a fire risk.” Unfortunately, wildfire risk is slightly more complicated than looking out of a tent and checking whether the grass is damp. After prolonged dry conditions, rainfall can run off rather than sufficiently soaking the ground and vegetation, meaning the fire risk can remain extremely high.
We explained the situation to you several times. We cannot make exceptions to a national safety restriction, and we certainly cannot make an exception simply because someone doesn’t agree with it. You chose to leave the site. That was your decision. We gave you other food options locally and there are takeaways listed on the information board that deliver to the campsite.
Calling this “misadvertised” because you arrived expecting to have a fire despite the clearly published restrictions is therefore rather difficult to understand.
Perhaps next time, reading the terms and conditions and checking the site rules before travelling would save everyone a considerable amount of time and disappointment. They were there for precisely this reason.

A aimé Nice open field with plenty of room for the amount of people that were camping there. Toilet blocks were always stocked with toilet paper and hand towels. It was really easy to find, good spot for a few walks and close to lots of villages without being super central

A aimé Campsite was easy to find, plenty of space to pitch, front field where we stayed is next to the road and there were cows and sheep on the other side!
Toilets were good, 6 showers available and plenty of water refill points.
Campsite was well maintained and staff were friendly.
There were lots of people there but everybody adhered to the quiet after 10pm rule.
Has a list of nearest pubs/takeaways next to the check in info boards.

A aimé Really great campsite, but busy! We did go bank holiday wkend.
Showers and toilets clean and good enough, portable kind. Plenty of them around the fields. There is 3 fields to choose from.

N'a pas aimé If you didn't get their early then you might struggle to park!

Had a roof tent left to go out for the day then upon arrival back my spot was taken
So had to grab everything and moved

We’re a true back-to-basics, wild campsite, so we don’t allocate, reserve or hold individual pitches.
When you arrive, you’re welcome to choose any suitable pitch that’s available. Once a pitch is vacated, it simply becomes available for other campers to enjoy.
That’s the beauty of wild, back-to-basics camping — freedom, simplicity and choosing your own spot!

Plenty of space.
Clearly labelled bins.
Easy access driveway.

N'a pas aimé The grounds/landscaping crew who trimmed the weeds back could have come a bit later than 8.00am……no snoozing through that!

A aimé Great location, clean facilities, choose where to pitch, close to walking routes.

N'a pas aimé Very busy on the Friday and Saturday night, lots of large groups- music playing past midnight and noise until around 3am. Advertised as quiet from 10pm but not enforced.
