Dog walk area & the fact dogs could run off lead

Paid nearly double normal site fees so we could have a swim/ jacuzzi and it was out of order!
Wi-Fi you had to pay for, unlike our last 2 sites

Cleanliness, swimming pool and pool facilities, peacefulness, hog roast. Information about what's on in the surrounding areas.

Paying to get better Wifi, lighting around site, play area to small, toilet facilities needed a bit of updating, archery a bit disappointing.

Swimming pool, hot tub & amazing infrared sauna (the latter helped my back so much that I was able to sleep well in our camper for the first time ever!), friendly knowledgeable staff, clean toilets/showers, the games room was great (it’s rare to see a pinball machine these days and my 5yr old loved it!), the eco-friendliness of all the facilities, the Pétanque area (great fun, reception have boules available to purchase), fresh hot pastries/bread available in the morning (pre-order required), small woodland walk, the privacy of the site we were on (we were at the end of Tamar field), nice playpark where our children made friends easily.

These minor dislikes did not dampen our stay at all:
- The shop is good for kids sweets and toys but not much else - if you are looking for something nice to eat as a snack, whether savoury or sweet, head straight to the Copper Penny farm shop - about half a mile from the campsite.
- Bring cash - there’s no cash back available, and the minimum spend on a card is £5, which was a little inconvenient especially if you only want to purchase some cheap sweets for the children.
- Not a dislike as such, but we’ll definitely request a pitch slightly closer to the facilities next time, as my 5yr old has a small bladder and it took quite a while to walk to the loo, not fun at midnight!
- Again not a dislike as such as the owners can’t do anything about it, but there’s barely any 4G coverage, so streaming is a no go unless you go and sit in the games room where there’s free WiFi. There is chargeable WiFi available, but was told it wouldn’t be good enough for streaming anything.

Loved that the park is so quiet and not crowded. Facilities were very clean and well maintained. The added bonus was an indoor heated swimming pool on site. Staff were really helpful and friendly and the onsite shop, although small had all the essentials you could need.

We stayed at the far end of the Tamar field and paid for the week WiFi which was very poor and constantly dropped out. The swimming pool was unmanned which was fine but could do with staff checking in every now and then as there were children constantly dive bombing which was unsettling for those who have young children.

There is nothing to dislike

One of the best campsites we have ever stayed on. The attention to detail and friendliness of staff is amazing. The directions to the campsite were clear and easy to follow. A long driveway takes you to the reception area where staff were waiting to greet you. Once booked in we were offered the opportunity to pre order bread, croissants, baguettes etc as well as a newspaper. We were given a quick tour and then taken to our pitch. Our pitch on the 'top field' was spacious, neat and fully serviced. We were close to all the amenities including a handy campers kitchen complete with freezer and microwave. The laundry room and washing up room were clean and well organised. The showers were brilliant, proper taps, no pushing buttons every 10 seconds and lovely hot water. They even provide posh shower gel, hand wash and hair dryers. The pool is clean and warm. It has a jacuzzi, sauna, shower and changing rooms. It was 27 degrees on the day we visited so it was lovely to cool off in the pool. There is a motorhome service point with chemical toilet emptying point, air pressure gauge and water for windscreen. If you have a dog there is a doggy spa which includes a ramp for the dogs to walk up, doggie toiletries, shower and hair dryer! Pamper your pooch!
We particularly like that the site draws its own water from a bore hole on site and they generate all their own electricity through the use of solar panels.
Sadly we only booked one night as we were passing through but 100% will be returning. An absolute gem.
