Back to basics campsite with just water toilet disposal and EHU. Small site surrounded by farmland and open countryside, loved watching the cows passing our van going to be milked each day.
The icecream parlour/cafe next door was an added bonus with the BEST icecream!
Perfect base for cycling the Tissington trail which we we're there for. No frills, basic country side site perfect for what we needed.

Yes it did smell a little of the beautiful cows that reside there BUT it's a working farm so nothing more than we expected.

The location is close to Bakewell and adjacent to the Dairy Farm and Ice Cream Shop.
We were on a gravel/ hard standing pitch with EHU and it was fine for us,. We only stayed one night and it was quite over-night. There are no toilets or showers etc on site so you need your own. You have to try the ice cream on sale, the shop was really busy during the afternoon and the ice creams delicious. This was a good place to stay especially for a one night stop or if you plan on local trips.

Nothing to dislike but the notice saying you should have been allocated a pitch in advance and book in at the shop/cafe was confusing as we got nothing in advance, then the shop told us the pitches are no longer allocated, just pick you own. It was no problem really just a small point.

£25 per night with electric but without facilities ( toilets / shower block/ washing up) is perhaps a little on the expensive side although we were happy to pay

Lovely site, pitches are fairly level and nicely spaced. Fantastic treats next door at the dairy and farm shop. Just up the road from the high peak trail and easy access to bakewell, Chatsworth, Mam Tor and ladybower reservoir to name a few places we went. Really enjoyed our stay.

Good location for visiting key Peak District towns. The escape and returning home!

Rude, discourteous, unhelpful staff. Very expensive for what you get. Farmyard noxious smells. Busy ice cream shop spoils enjoyment. The young lad in the the shop (owners son), really is the rudest most unhelpful character you can ever meet and totally devoid of customer service skills. Please see other reviews. They are not wrong! The site is right next to a farmyard and the smells are awful. This is not a complaint as it's to be expected. Though if the smell is really bad on any day you will be sick. When you arrive you have to check in at the ice cream shop. Though there were no customers in the shop when I arrived I had to interrupt the staff to get noticed. There is no information given on amperage available, emergency locations, places to visit in a nutshell nothing! It seems all they care about is the ice cream business. We had a problem with the electric hookup and basically the owner came and had a quick look on the first night blamed us for it and that was it! We were left to it. This was a last minute break as we had to change from a holiday abroad in the sun to this in the UK due to personal reasons. As our four night break spanned a bank holiday weekend there was nothing left - apart from this place. Now I know why. I should have taken heed of the bad reviews. Please do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs. These people really do not deserve your hard earned money. One thing I will say they have addressed is they now place an 'A' board on the entrance to the caravan site to stop people visiting the ice cream shop parking there. All in all a miserable experience on site but out and about visits we enjoyed.

Choose your own pitch. Cheep for location. Excellent base for day trips to Bakewell and Buxton etc. cycle and walking easy access. Amazing pub 2 mins drive for food and atmosphere. Best ice cream served at the farm for miles.
