Great site, excellent toilet and shower block, site managers really helpful.

Orcaber is one of our go to sites. We have been pitching up for the last 4 years and have stayed in tents and now our caravan. The site is always clean. The facilities are extremely well kept. The site seems to be making improvements each year for example the shop, extra washing stations and weekend takeaways. The staff and friendly and approachable. The site is child and pet friendly and feels safe. The tent and caravan pitches have adequate space and the caravan pitches have own water connections which is an added bonus. The site has beautiful views and is only a short drive away from a number of areas of natural beauty.

Nothing to dislike!

The facilities were really clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful! It’s also a great location for some beautiful hikes! I hope to come back again!

On pitch up I was allowed to book a motorhome grass pitch without ehu which suited us as we are self contained.

Arrived to be told that they had been cancelling bookings because the ground was waterlogged. We had not been contacted however.

After some thought they showed us to a part of the field they thought 'might be alright '.
Immediately after driving on we realised we were stuck and could not even used our levelling ramps.

After 15 minutes the owner came and towed us off. I suggested that we stay in the carpark overnight and that the next morning could leave as all the hardstanding pitches were full. I said we would accept a refund of 2 of the 3 nights booked; I was happy to pay for one night in their carpark! The owner was not happy for us to do this.

He was quite abrupt and said ' you booked a grass tent pitch '. I didn't book a tent. I booked a Motorhome grass pitch; I assumed that as I had been able to book it that it would be ok. And that if that wasn't the case, that my booking would be cancelled in advance and refunded.

In the end another member of staff allowed us to park on a seasonal pitch that contained a small caravan. He said he ' didn't think the owners would turn up but if they did we would have to leave '.

Consequently we felt like squatters and everytime we heard a car we thought it was the pitch owners!

We left a day early in the end.

£100 to sublet a seasonal pitch for 2 nights is not my idea of good value.

Excellent site. Clean, very dog friendly, excellent toilets and showers. Loved the dog walk and exercise field. All staff helpful and friendly.

Not all facilities open as low season

The lodge had heating that kept us warm through the night perfect in the winter, staff were really helpful and friendly. There was a shop onsite which was helpful but abit pricey. The lodge was carpeted which made it feel cozy and wasn’t cramped when we put our double bed in it we still had half of the lodge left. Perfect for a little get away! Would recommend!

I didn’t realise that we had to pay 50p for 10 mins for the shower I thought that the shower would come with everything else like the toilets not at an extra charge. We was told there would be restaurant on site however there wasn’t any food there just a shop, but we didn’t mind as there was cafes near by. However would still recommend as we had a lovely time :)

Lovely site, very quiet when we went. Owner met us when we rang him, was there within a couple mins.
Pods are well spaced out, heating was amazing after a wet walk up Whernside.
Facilities were great, best toilets and shower on any campsite we've been to. Will defo return.

Falcities are spot on, excellent showers. Only a short walk of 1 mile to local village of Austwick. Definitely will stay again. Plenty of walks and MTB rides close by
