Friendly host

1. The two pitches combined are significantly smaller than a football pitch. Tents are so crowded that it looks like a tent estate. Surely there must be a claw-back on the number of guests allowed because it ruins the holiday experience. If our entire group had turned up, getting a parking space would have been a problem.

2. Heavy stench of muck (manure) all day. It was so strong it could give one a throat infection. Our kids complained about it all day.

3. Noisy 50mph road next to the pitch. The tent I pitched was literally less than 4 metres away from the road. All night I struggled to sleep because traffic blaring past every few seconds. Occasionally, a tractor, or roaring heavy goods vehicle would roar past and wake my whole family up (including our 3 year old). My kids hated their first camping experience because of that. You also can't help but worry that a driver may lose control and plough into your tent.

As for the toilets, they were in a right state, I had to wipe them with a damp warm toilet paper about 3 times before I could sit on them. And I layered toilet paper because I just could not sit directly on them after what I had wiped off. They need an ablution revamp and at least employ a full-time cleaner.

Camping, got there checked in and the owner was so welcoming. Food was great, atmosphere was great. We loved our stay here and would definitely be returning.

Good that it was near a pub and had a park, however we didn't get time to play in the park unfortunately.

Staff were nice

So close to Alton towers couldn't fault really

It really smelled of cow poo because opposite there was a cattle farm I think. This is the not the camping site fault of course, just something to bear in mind if staying. It didn't bother us too much to be honest

The electric hook pitches

Next to busy road literally a fence between tents and main road - Uttoxeter road. You will not sleep here. There are poo loads that pass every few minutes and make the place stink like sewer. The toilets are not restocked once toilet paper is out. Not a very good site.

The staff was very friendly and kept the toilets clean .

The camping site was so small , no space for the kids to play games . The camping site is by the roadside , if you are a light sleeper you won't sleep at all. The road is so busy. There is an awful smell of cow dung every morning.The pictures don't accurately show the true overall size of the camp site.

Friendly staff, clean and well maintained facilities. The pub on site is lovely and offers some great freshly cooked meals. We had a lovely overnight stay and have already highly recommended to some friends.

Nothing to dislike.

The staff were the absolute best. Food in the pub was nice even though a bit pricey.
Toilets and showers were kept clean.
Location to Alton Towers was good.
Lots of wildlife to look at. We had a baby bunny visit us regularly, plenty of Buzzards and Kites flying nearby and bats in the evening.
Just down the road was a small play park and a community centre which had a self serve coffee machine and milkshake machine.

Toilets were very basic, would have been nice to have better amenities.
The pitch we stayed on was on a slight incline so you tended to slide down the bed.
Road next to our pitch was noisy and the lights made it difficult to see the stars.
There was a faint smell of manure often from neighbouring fields.
Other sites were a bit loud and boisterous, I'm glad we had a quiet pitch. But the staff were there to help quieten them if needed.
The kids in the play park were often rude, antisocial and not supervised by their parents. Whilsy playing there my youngest was hurt by another child and my niece was called a b*tch.

John the host was great.
Site had all we needed, fantastic home cooked food! Good access for Alton Towers! Everything you need 10 mins away! Lovely creamery vending machine next door!
The only down side was the road next to it is a little bit busy but they do supply earplugs if you need them!
Would totally stay again!

Friendly staff managers were very friendly very polite present pleasant lovely location able to play in the field by the tent. They really enjoyed lovely food food was lovely. We really enjoyed it.
