good sized pitch , great friendly staff , great food good value , small playground great for young children , clean toilets and shower block

a little noisy at night due to proximity to the road , some families having more than 1 car on site taking other campers spaces , some foul mouthed campers not suitable when children around will not return here

Friendly owner, lovely little pub with delicious food, nice well kept fields.

Only issue was the field was straight off a very busy/noisy road but didnt ruin our stay.

Great location for a number of days out. No problems with facilities, washing area, water, electric, toilets etc. Play area for kids, pub food lovely and good prices. Staff great, accomodating and helpful. Would return!

Friendly staff, nice food, level areas to pitch the tent. Pub is nicely decorated and very cosy. Loads of seating inside and outside in the beer garden. There is also a children's play area with swings and slides. Lots of gorgeous flowers in hanging baskets and flower beds.

The road can be noisy. Didn't prevent sleeping, though. Food is a little expensive but nice. The toilet and shower block needs to be completely renewed as it's ancient. Pub could do with a deep clean, as there's dust on light fittings, cobwebs and spiders on the ceiling in the pub toilets. Tables were very sticky. Barmaid said it was due to a new cleaning product, another said it was the varnish. Carpets need cleaning. General sweep and tidy up needed in carpark and beer garden.

The site was close to things like shops and attractions.

The road next to the campsite was loud and busy with only a couple of hours during the night where it was quiet.
The pub attached was overpriced for food for what it was and the "toilet facilities" were shocking! it was a portacabin with 2 toilets and a shower that was either really hot or cold! they weren't clean or sanitary enough to put anything on the floor of on the sinks either, we ended up using the pub toilets as they were cleaner.

Lovely setting. Landlady was very approachable and helpful. Good facilities which did the job. Road was noisy but you are offered alternative fields and also earplugs- we personally slept through the road noise. Pub was also lovely. I am a single mum with a 6 year old and we felt safe and secure there!

1. The two pitches combined are significantly smaller than a football pitch. Tents are so crowded that it looks like a tent estate. Surely there must be a claw-back on the number of guests allowed because it ruins the holiday experience. If our entire group had turned up, getting a parking space would have been a problem.

2. Heavy stench of muck (manure) all day. It was so strong it could give one a throat infection. Our kids complained about it all day.

3. Noisy 50mph road next to the pitch. The tent I pitched was literally less than 4 metres away from the road. All night I struggled to sleep because traffic blaring past every few seconds. Occasionally, a tractor, or roaring heavy goods vehicle would roar past and wake my whole family up (including our 3 year old). My kids hated their first camping experience because of that. You also can't help but worry that a driver may lose control and plough into your tent.

As for the toilets, they were in a right state, I had to wipe them with a damp warm toilet paper about 3 times before I could sit on them. And I layered toilet paper because I just could not sit directly on them after what I had wiped off. They need an ablution revamp and at least employ a full-time cleaner.
