Linwater has got to be the best campsite we have ever visited. It was clean, staff are friendly and willing to help. I felt my children were safe.

It has a very well equipped communal kitchen that can be used by everyone which includes washing up liquid, cutlery, pots / pans and condiments. For us, this made camping with a baby easier as I could sterilise her bottles in the microwave without hassle. Table and chairs are available so you can enjoy time inside as a family.

Linwater has thought of the little touches with a Wii Consol for people to use, wide selection of board games, books, dvds to be used. Also, if the weather changes and you are stuck without a pair of wellies, they have a cupboard full to borrow.

The toilet block is clean and modern. For us, a family bathroom with a bath and a shower was a win. We had a disabled child so having a bath available made it easier to clean her. (This is a £5 returnable deposit to use). There is ramp access to the disabled toilet too.

The shop has all the basics plus more at reasonable prices.

We are very much looking forward to returning again in the future.

Our only downside to this campsite is that there are steps to the family bathroom and with a child in a wheelchair we have to lift her. It would have been great if this was ramped.

There is WIFI available on site but we were unable to connect to this from our pitch.

The whole site was lovely and in a great location. The facilities were superb and there was a very relaxed vibe. Our dog was a bit taken aback by the chickens wandering around but they were unfazed by her!
Thoroughly recommend this site and we will be back when next visiting family in the area.

Amazing bathroom facilities, dog walking route and general cleanliness of the site.

Nothing - it was fab!

Very good facilities. We had been on the road for just under a week, so the good quality showers and toilets were appreciated. Water access right by pitches was really useful.

The aeroplanes from the nearby airport were a little noisy but that's hardly their fault.

Location of the campsite perfect for visiting Edinburgh and some lovely local walks. Wished we stayed for longer to explore more.

Facilities excellent, everything was thought of, even a doggie shower 👌

The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Would highly recommend and would definitely go back.

In the direct flight path of planes taking off from Edinburgh airport. Didn’t bother us but worth knowing and being prepared for.
Pros outweigh this one con!

Friendly welcome, well organised pitches, good ehu, facilities modern and immaculate, handy shop, i will definitely be back if I'm in the area.

Very close to Edinburgh and Beoxburn, Toilets, showers and the camp site in general immaculate and very well kept. Seperate kitchen area with free phone charging for campers etc. Is a great site for plane spotting as it is not far from Edinburgh airport pkanes can be see taking off and landing. Full motor home services for motor home chemical, waste water, fresh water, etc, electric hook up. Shop on site open for stuff you forget to get whenout and about. Great disabled facilities with baby changing area that isinside a small but well kept laundry area with 2 washing machines and 2 driers,there is also an ironingboard and table. Staff very friendly and pleasant to chat with.

There is nothing I really disliked about this site.

Water and elec on pitch, elsan etc all easy to use and clean. Didn't use showers etc but did look in and it was all very nice and modern and clean as was the whole site tbh, very well kept by the friendly staff. Site has a lovely walk going down behind it leading to a stream and if you go lower down the hill again through a field there's a river as well

Modern, clean bathrooms with 2 private makeup and mirror facilities in the ladies. There was plenty of surface and hooks available as well to hang towels and clothes which is a rareity!
The on site shop was very handy for rolls in the morning and sweeties for road trips.
The park was clean, tidy and easy to find all amenities.
There was laundry and drying facilities which were competitively priced and perfect after our clothes got covered in oil from a runaway exhaust on the van!
There was a lovely area for washing dishes and prepping food with a games corner and table to eat at.
Staff were very friendly. The pitches were well spaced out and perfect for people who prefer quieter nights and more privacy. Would definitely go back.
