Second time here 2 years later and still a lovely, simple site. Stay here for a simple, inexpensive holiday and does not disappoint. Fairly quiet (outside of holidays at least) and facilities basic but kept relatively clean. Little interaction with the owner but very friendly when called on arrival. The pub next door and ice cream from the dairy down the road just make it ideal! Can sometimes hear the donkeys but love camping next to them and seeing them each day, will definitely be back!

The site was quiet and the owner very helpful.

We liked that he drove round and checked on everyone in the afternoon, and the site felt secure.

The pub next door is a great amenity and the toilet and shower block fine. Nothing fancy but exactly what it said on the tin.

Our toddler LOVED having the donkey sanctuary next door and watching them over the fence. Room to run around and overall very pleasant night!

Remote management (never saw anyone), also pitch numbers for tents and caravans duplicated which caused some confusion.

Friendly hosts who were always on hand if you needed anything.
Could see the hosts working hard to keep the site tidy.
Small quiet site.
Good shower and toilet facilities. Have to pay £1 for showers so make sure you get change before you go.
Location is perfect for exploring the Peak District. Close to Buxton.
Plants of pubs within driving distance, 1 at the top of the site in walking distance (however we did not use this so cannot comment on the food)

A lovely quiet site with recently refurbished toilet and shower block that is simple but clean and has everything you need. 2 minute walk to the Bull pub which serves great pizza or a 5 minute walk on the footpath across the fields to Royal Oak if you want something a bit more sophisticated. Great location near Buxton so perfect for Bakewell, Chatsworth House etc.

The location was amazing. Site is very basic but is perfect for what you need. Staff were friendly and facilities were clean.

Great location and views. It's a great small site with level pitches, clean and tidy, and plenty of room for our 4 metre Bell tent and we booked with family requested to be next to each other in which we were, with no problem.
Like the new toilet and shower block, the shower is metered £1 gives you 5 minutes of hot water in a roomy cubicle. The toilets were always clean and well stocked with loo rolls. Also liked the new washing-up cubicle with hot water.
Family owned and run they live on-site, are very friendly and helpful.
The Donkey Sanctuary in the adjacent field is nice to see from our pitch, you do hear them from about 6am, didn't bother me found it quite charming.
They do have fire pit hire and wood for sale.
Pub and restaurant near the site, can't comment on it at not been.
We have been a few times before and will be back soon.

A very friendly run site with great access to other locations either by road or on foot.

Possibly too near the main road as traffic can easily be heard.

Toilet didn't work in one caravan trouble with gas cooker in the same caravan other caravan showers didn't work dirty unwashed oven tray with food in the cooker very few untensils showers are 1 pound but don't work all in all a miserable stay
