Such a great campsite, basic facilities but perfectly located. My second time staying.

Liked everything about the site. Location was perfect for us, very close to the walks we’d planned and close enough to Buxton if needed more civilisation. Pub next door for food and drinks if you hadn’t already thought about eating.
Quality of accommodation was excellent as we took our own caravan.
Facilities were exactly what we needed, EHU, fresh water, toilets and showers if needed.
Customer service was excellent, the owner made time each morning to see if everything and everyone was ok and was very polite when we arrived.
Child friendliness wasn’t what we were looking for (we had no kids with us) but lots of space for kids to run around if needed.
Cleanliness was very good, I had read reviews that toilets were muddy and full if grass but of the weather is very wet that’s to be expected at times when it’s a grass field.
WiFi wasn’t something we needed so can’t comment or rate really.

Hard standing for parking camper vans and caravans on.

Coin operated shower didn't work and not particularly clean. No hot water. No washing up facility.

On site caravans booked for family, and one touring pitch . Bad choice ,caravans not cleaned when we arrived( forgoten we had booked) 1 caravan smelt of stale cigarette smoke, one fridge had no shelves and did not get cold, fire and carbon monoxide alarms in both caravans not working, fire extinguisher in one caravan , 7 years out of date, no chemicals in caravan toilets which smelt appalling, no chemicals in flush and one flush didn’t work, oven in one caravan smoked badly and gave off orange flame( dare not use). Fires in both caravans hanging off wall and not safe to use.Caravans good idea but unfortunately not safe . We cut short our stay as we were worried about the health and safety for children. The onsite toilets and showers had only one shower open , no soap or hand drying facilities, no light in one toilet and very cramped in the other , knees touched door when sat down ( im only 5 ft 2 so not large). Broken seat in one cubicle. Dosen’t matter how much you spend on facilities initially, they need to be maintained. No onsite washing up facilities, road in site very muddy and slippery ( although it had been raining) maybe could do with some stone chippings down . Some units less than 3 m apart so fire issues. Not a happy experience. Maybe scrap caravans and just have touring pitches , could be lovely site but sadly maintained and neglected. Touring pitch cost us £35 per night so not cheap for stay, have used cheaper and better sites, spoilt our holiday

Nice location with a donkey sanctuary nextdoor and a pub a minutes walk away.

Showers appeared to be working however after a pound was put in the shower still didn't work. We didn't see the owners all 3 days we were staying to we couldn't even bring up the issue. There was also no sink to wash up so we had to use the drinking water tap.

Campsite was quiet and had good views. Close to Buxton and a nice cafe just down the road. Donkeys were right near the campsite too.

Site was quite rough. Toilets were quite small and dirty showers. Bins were full and over spilling. Not much info on arrival.

Nice and quiet , and friendly site owners. Very welcoming in.

Can’t think of any dislikes. Apart from no signal on phones

Basic no frills site with good pitches and lovely donkey sanctuary, toilets and showers on site although showers not the best , showers take £1 coins, overall good stay and extended it as we enjoyed the area, very cheap pitch up for non electric grass pitch
