No me gustó: The toilet block was clean in respect of toilets and sinks and showers, but the floor never saw a mop for the full six days we were there and the walls could do with a good wash down and a feather duster to get rid of the cobwebs all over

Hi, thanks for your review! We hope you'll visit again! I do feel I should point out that we advertise the site is located on a working farm. Many of our guests feel this adds to it's charm, but unfortunately smells are of course to be expected.

We originally booked our stay on a fully serviced pitch for two weeks before we actually went but because I had a bad fall and dislocated and shattered my elbow I contacted Stuart, explained the situation and he was brilliant. Allowed us to move dates and just said we’ll sort it out when you get here which he did. Lovely site, very well maintained, bus stop outside gate and lovely pub just down the road. Couldn’t ask for more

Owner was friendly on arrival and explained the options of pitches available. The pitch we chose was large and private with hedges all around (no3).No me gustó: This is a working farm; there was a fair strong smell of cows and also a lot of noise of farm machinery in the field behind us until 7 pm.
It is advertised as a working farm, so that’s on me, but it was hard for my autistic daughter.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Sorry to hear you would not recommend the site or stay here again. We're sorry to hear that the site being on a working farm was not suitable for you, but I do feel I need to point out we very clearly advertise the site is on a working farm. If guests do not take the time to read or process this information unfortunately there is nothing we can do and no way we can know until you arrive and inform us it is a problem. If you had contacted us before your stay we would have been happy to discuss the set up of the site and the smells/farm noises, and perhaps you would have realised the site would not be a good fit.
The smell you report came from the small number of young cows we keep near the campsite. When you arrived, you informed Stuart that the offensive odour would be a problem, and as a result of this you were shown and given the pitch furthest away from the animals. In reference to the noise, this was from one tractor mowing a field of grass up the road from the campsite, not directly linked. Additionally I feel 19:00 is not generally considered very late.
We are sorry you couldn't enjoy your stay and it was upsetting for your daughter, but I do feel we did everything within our power to accommodate you.

Hi, sorry to hear the cleaning didn't meet your standards. The facilities are in fact mopped daily. The colouring of the tiles can be deceiving. The facilities are also dusted regularly. The majority of our guests find them satisfactory at least.
