We visited the local farm shop that was amazing. Not much on the site but that was ok for us . All positive one that side of thingsNo me gustó: It's a dog friendly site but and a big but their is nowhere to walk your dogs unless you drive to the nearest point that's dog friendly. Their is a grass area they can walk around it's small really if you have dogs that like to run. With all the fields around I'm sure the owner could make a dog exercise area in a near field I know its a working farm but I also know lots of working farms that now do camping have done this. If this site had a dog area we would not of left the site as it was so nice and quiet . We booked as we always take our dogs and they said dog friendly but their are no bins for you to put dog waste ... I think they should stop allowing dogs or take the next step and open a area fenced in with some dog poo bins...
We have labradoddles and they need a bit of a run .. WiFi was very weak phone reception is poor ..

Unfortunately with the sunny weather we've been enjoying there's not much we can do to prevent dust!
I do feel I should stress that we advertise the site as a working farm, therefore countryside smells are to be expected.

Good value for money.
Might return if we were allocated a better pitch just to attend rugby in the future.No me gustó: We were allocated pitch number 28 which was a sad little pitch in a corner furthest away from facilities block, no view, under oak trees and our car, caravan and brand new awning are plastered in tree sap, the clean-up will take longer than the stay. Really not impressed.
We had a grass and hardstanding pitch but the grass was too small for the awning and sloped off so had to put awning on hardstanding, even though we had rock pegs it was near impossible to drive these in.
Walk into village was possible but no footpath and dense hedges so you couldn't step off the road was pretty dangerous when walking dogs due to inconsiderate speeding motorists.

Sorry to here how disappointing stay was, what a shame you mentioned none of these problems while you were with us, despite being greeted at check in, and being giving our family home contact details.
Pitch 28 is actually often requested by returning guests as they appreciate the quiet corner and view over the fields, it is approximately 100m from the facilities. Not a long walk for most, but if you require close proximity to toilets its usually best to mention on your booking.
Unfortunately vicinity to trees is often a part of camping, and if you have a large awning it would probably have been a good idea to book one of our 'plus' pitches with a larger area of grass.
We have no problems walking with dogs on the road, and nor do most our guests, but of course experiences differ.
Thank you for considering staying again, but with the difficult time you had, we feel it may be better for you to try another local site next time you visit Sandy Park.

However we do feel the need to reply to some of your comments. While we love to have canine guests, we do not charge for them and nowhere do we advertise that there is a dog walk on site. We would recommend you check carefully when booking sites to see if there is an off lead dog walking area, rather than assuming because a site is on a farm you will be free to let them run a-muck over agricultural land. There are several reasons while this would be inappropriate; firstly there is always the risk of cattle worrying, which is dangerous for cattle, dogs and owners, and also the toxins in dog waste are poisonous to cows. We had no have excess land available to fence some off for a dog walking area but thank you for the suggestion.
For most it is not necessary to drive in order to reach a dog walk; there a several footpaths a short walk away via the lanes, however we appreciate some owners are not confident controlling there dogs on the road. In this case woodbury common boasts over 2000 acres of walking land and is just a short drive away.
As most of our dog owners are very happy staying here, we will not be stopping allowing dogs, but thank you again for your suggestion. Dog waste can be put in the black bin available as most owners would at home.
Phone reception varies depending on your provider, and we have basic wifi as most campsites provide.
