Yes the site is slightly sloping but that is only 50% the other 50% is on the level ground.

No me gustó: Toilet and showers were dirty, poorly lit and built and at the bottom of a hill.
Pitches were not flat. Some on a significant gradient.
Grass was long.
Noise from the road was loud.
No site rules on noise levels meaning campers were up late singing , shouting and talking to beyond midnight.
Dogs barking throughout the day and night.
Good morning.
We are sad to see that you appeared not to enjoy your stay here (thankfully others did, many on return visits)
The 8 toilets and 4 showers showers were frequently cleaned during your stay here, ( 3 times daily in fact ) Early morning it is myself with the bleach putting a shine on the seats before campers or staff are awake. Saturday it was myself every shift. We cannot make people leave the facilities clean, only clear up after everyone who leaves it unpleasant for others.
Cobwebs are only done once a week , on Tuesdays. lighting all work and is excellent, censored inside but so many people leave the doors open that we get insects attracted to the lights.
Brilliant outside lights in the toilet area come on at dusk, but campers do need a torch to cross the field as one would expect in the country side.
50% of our pitches are level others vary.
Bank holiday weekend, 'B' road small enough not to have a number, sorry about the tourist travelling by and creating noise ( but trade for businesses)
Sight rules for noise is clear on every ones welcome letter which includes their pitch number ,stating music must cease by 11pm & respect other campers.
Also there is a number on that letter of where to phone should their be an issue, which can easily be resolved with a visit to the offenders from Farmer Gerald..
Dogs welcome but barking, bit tricky if we only get to hear about it after you go home. Were you lucky enough for the 3 dogs in your group not bark at all ?
We really can't do anything about being on a hill except to say, do enjoy the view of the beauty Devon has to offer.

Being offered a cup of tea when our tent wasn't waterproof and had flooded while we worked out what to do next after only a night there. Sadly we had to pack up and leave early so didn't really get to experience the campsite more than that. I enjoyed seeing the cows and geese too! There was also baby changing in an accessible area for both myself and my husband!
The pitches were a good size and the campsite was quite tightly filled.No me gustó: –

No me gustó: Disappointed in the toilet/shower block. Very dirty. Mould on the ceilings. Shower drains didn’t drain away. Say it’s more of an after thought.
When asking if there were any local walks for the campsite. The person said ‘weren’t you listening when you checked in?’ - not the response you would expect. Very rude.
There was a young person on reception who handed a piece of paper and didn’t explain the pitch set up or where we were just told us a number.
Bins overflowing and never emptied the whole time we were there.
Not impressed with the price we paid. I’ve paid less with better facilities.
Hello, thank you for you're review, although you appeared not to enjoy being on a working farm site. Happily there were repeat visitors to our site over the same weekend and will i'm sure continue to come back many more times. in the future.
The 8 toilets,2 urinals and 4 showers were cleaned and refilled 3 times daily. Bins emptied every day but with so many on site soon became filled again.. Ceilings get washed spring and autumn, sorry but not done in the middle of a busy bank holiday. Insects are attracted by the automatic lights when doors are left open. Shower drains soon get slow but are frequently & at least twice weekly emptied and flushed by the owner & team here.
Banter is part of who we are with no intention of being rude to any guest, just a down to earth welcome.

No me gustó: 0 information given on check in. Sarcastic responses when asking information on local walks.
Not enough toilets, showers or washing up basins for the amount of people.
Dirty, mouldy toilets and showers with lots of dead bugs on ceilings and lights. Cobwebs in every corner. Not cleaned or bins emptied for the 3 nights of our stay.
Showers don’t drain causing you to stand in dirty shower water.
Pitches are not clearly boundary marked causing everyone to be crammed in close to each other.
Unfortunately for us we had 2 families behind our pitch playing drum and bass at 7am & parents screaming at their children throughout the day no fault of the owners but made a huge impact on our stay.
Site feels old and tired, grass could do with a good cut & strim & thorough tidy up.
Advertisement of bar, restaurants and items for sale misleading. In fact a barn with some tables & chairs and a tiny bar in the corner.
Shame as this site could be a gem with some love and care.
Being regular campers we have to say this is the worst site we have stayed at.
Good afternoon, thank you for your review, although it has left me speechless and at a loss of how to reply, but here goes.
On checking in everyone is given directions to their pitch, I am surprised you were overlooked so apologies for that.
We give everyone a welcome letter that has your pitch no written on, we used to offer maps but now staple them on to ensure you have all needed but ,also have always given everyone verbal directions .
There are more than enough toilets and showers but I suspect you didn't use the block over this side , only the ones you came to first..
Cleaning is always carried out 3 times daily during the season, I know as I'm the one who is doing the 5am/6am shift and later on as well. Bugs only congregate when attracted by lights if doors are left open and auto lights come on.
I remove cobwebs on Tuesdays on the staff day off when I cover all the shifts.
All the pitches have a central number and marker posts in yellow/black on the perimeter.
In fact when checking the diary on the Fri 23rd, the day of your arrival we went around and replaced any that were missing , which can happen when kids are having fun .We take pitch sizing 25ft x 25 ft. (7.62 m)and marking out seriously to ensure everyone gets a fair bite of the cherry.
None gets crammed together unless they have oversized units. Camp site grass cutting is done by farmer Gerald every week but no time for strimming on a weekly basis .
Bar, enjoyed by many as stocked with local cider , ale & apple juice. .Selection of gins (17 ) wines , larger, spirits & mixers, multitude of soft drinks and zero selection. Bubbly, chilled and ready to go.
Tea room , open all day from 8.30am to 6pm (except Tuesdays)
Restaurant opens 7pm to 10 pm Thurs, Fri, Sat.
Kitchen door sales of cakes , bread, milk eggs, bacon, burgers etc is always available within the open hours which is quite wide.
Happily we were busy the whole summer with the inside and outside seating & eating.
The farm and site has always had love lavished on it from its humble beginnings to the present day.
This is a rural working farm and wedding venue popular with many, the camp site has a plentiful list of returning campers covering generations of visitors.
Anyone who has a trouble with noise after 11pm should call the number on your welcome letter or notice board.
Farmer Gerald is soon up there to quiet things if we get the call. Drum and base is not acceptable at 7am.
We will visit again!

Pamela and Gerald and their helpful team were friendly, attentive and welcoming. Had a nice rural farm feel on well kept, flat grass pitches, with not too much incline. The basic facilities were functional and plentiful for the size of campsite. Warm showers, dry and clean utility area with access to microwave, fridge, freezer and a washing machine. Friendly farm cats, cows, tractors and other animals give plenty for little ones to explore.
Food and drink and the cafe/restaurant/bar seemed good - Pamela's delicious home cooked pie was encased in probably the finest pasty I've eaten in 40 years. I wish I knew her secret!
No me gustó: The only niggle in would say was that more toilets didn't have a baby change table in, even though most cubical were big enough for one. The only baby change was in the toilet near the restaurant but was behind a locked roller shutter during the cafs/restaurant closed hours
