Traducir (A través del Traductor Google)Me gustó: The gentle atmosphere of the camp with beautiful farm animals grazing in adjacent fields t,the welcoming of owners and helpful staff .,easy location to so many places to visit for families or solo campers like myself and of course the seaside of Lyme Regis ,where a delicious Devon cream tea can be enjoyed ,all within 20 mins or some fantastic countryside walks ,can’t wait to revisit this lovely site again .

Traducir (A través del Traductor Google)Me gustó: Everything about the site is amazing! The toilets are clean and well maintained. The site is small and friendly which makes your stay more enjoyable! Our 4 boys played all week on the rope swings and have now made some amazing friends! The pitches are well spaced out and are on a slight slope but the views across the hills are perfect, especially first thing in the morning when the mist is lifting. Waking up to the sound of the cows and geese really made our stay (the kids enjoyed going over to watch them). There is a little road noise but it’s mostly quiet and to be honest what campsite doesn’t have a little road noise? The site is in a prime location, we ended up visiting 5 beaches in the 5 days we were there and they we’re all within a 30/40minute drive (including roadworks). We absolutely loved our stay and are hoping to be back next year

Relaxed atmosphere on site.
Excellent food options. Cafe area and information.
Toilets, showers and washing up areas whilst rustic were clean and more than adequate.
No me gustó: There was nothing really to dislike, but a few observations.
1. There needs to be a sign on site entry advising directions on where to go to check in. We watched many drive onto the site, stop and were unsure where to go.
2. There is obviously a system but it did seem that as we were only staying 1 night we were initially squeezed in close to others, whilst other pitches remained free. We asked to move and this was fine.
Good afternoon and thank you for such an inspiring review.
Your 1st observation , we will get a directional sign put up the top it may help near or next to where the check in times are, but to be honest as so many attempt to check in early we are sure they never read it there or on their booking information. We always assumed that campers would follow the tarmac road down from the main gate and their information to enter reception at the Swallows Rest and ring one of the bells.
We try to email drivers of caravans to park at the top and walk down to check in.
Most do this anyway by looking ahead.

There is a system for allocating pitches, the main one is the power source to some and not others. Tents with children over the swing and football area. Others according to their needs.

We are very happy you enjoyed the camp site and saying nice things.
FYI a few details.
Pitch selection.
I/we put a lot of thought into every pitch allocation on a daily basis.
There are a lot of reasons for each individual decision.
Yours being a non electric booking meant the top edge somewhere and most times when possible if there are younger persons in the group we aim to go that side of the site to encourage children to interact, football , rope swing woodland fun etc.
Maybe our choice was not for your family but we do try.
Check in times. are on the pitch up web site and booking confirmation.
3pm to 7pm ,our 4 hour window works for most ,and we are grateful when people understand that a smooth running of the farm & campsite can only happen when people kindly respect this. Campers check out is 12noon so people can enjoy a relaxed pacing up time if they wish.
