Bathrooms! I’ve never seen bathrooms like them on a campsite, in fact they were nicer than some hotels I’ve stayed in. Three spacious bathrooms with a shower, toilet, sink, big mirror, cute wooden towel rails, plants, beautifully tiled and spotlessly clean. There was also another toilet and the washing up area in the same out building, which would be great in less pleasant weather as it was indoors and had heating. Lots of information and maps in there too.
There were a few pieces of good quality play equipment for younger children and a nice area to walk the dog.
The site is small and nicely laid out with ample sized, flat pitches that are hedged for privacy. It was very hot when we were there and the homemade ice cream from Rose was delicious, she even had a vegan option which was lovely and thoughtful.
It’s obvious from the care and attention they put into the site that Rose and Phillip really want their guest to enjoy their stay. I was greeted on arrival by Phillip who showed me round and was very pleasant. Rose was out when we phoned her to order our ice creams but as soon as she was back she came over to check what flavours we wanted and brought them straight over. I also heard her mentioning to another guest that they’d planted trees to provide shade for guests.
There was a bit of a query about our booking but Rose was so nice clarifying it, again, lovely, considerate customer service. They also seem to be very eco conscious with excellent recycling facilities and could only use green loo fluid, which you could buy from them.
