Aug 2026

Liked Quiet site, very peaceful. Showers were a good temperature. Sites were more private than your typical field camping, with lots of trees for shade on these hot summer days. Footpaths directly from the site.

Disliked Toilets were not cleaned regularly enough. Sinks were always visibly dirty and loo roll was out a couple of times. There is a big metal walled barn next to the electric pitches, which is not shown in the photos and it detracted from the wooded/nature setting. Price was expensive for what you get, compared to other campsites on the island.

What an amazing campsite! We had…

Jul 2023

Liked What an amazing campsite! We had such a lovely visit, and can honestly say that this is defintley one of the best campsite we have been to, especially for families. The staff are very helpful and friendly, there are free extras such as storytelling, and a lovely shop/cafe where you can purchase food, drinks and beach bits! There is a pond where you can fish or just go to enjoy some peace, or let the little ones explore. The pitches are well protected and on level ground, with campfires allowed in raised pits (bring your own). Each pit allows for plenty of space so you don't feel too squished in. There wasn't a single sight that was too far from the toilet/shower blocks. Everything was in a good distance. The toilets and showers were always clean, with hot water always available. There was also a kettle available to use in the washing up area, which was great for our morning tea, when we couldn't be bothered to heat up water on our little stove! There is so much to do in the area and the staff are very knowledgeable and happy to help. They gave us the directions and a little map, to a lovely walking route down to the beach, which took about 30 mins with a 5 year old in tow. I imagine with older children or without kids, it would take about 20 mins at a good pace. We loved this campsite and will most certainly be back! Thank you for having us!

Disliked nothing!

Lovely place, friendly, but pitch your own area needs improvement

Aug 2020

Liked This is a very unique campsite. It is on a beautiful lake, full of ducks, herons and even a white egret! Pros - clean facilities - outdoor covered bar and local food trucks right on the lake. We had some amazing wood fired pizza there on Sunday night - Family friendly music playing at the bar, lovely atmosphere and very well decorated - family friendly, lots of other children around for my son to play with - sufficient lighting to easily get around at night - lots of picnic tables near the bar and restaurant area - easy access to Bath and surrounding area - friendly staff - warm showers

Disliked This is a brand new campsite, so there are a few things that need improving. The site has definitely been set up to cater for those who are staying in the glamping portion of the campground. For those who are pitching your own (like we did), there are very few amenities. What we found needed improvement: - Pitch your own was in a field that needed mowing, and the ground was very lumpy and bumpy (it must have been an old farm field) - There was no drinkable water on tap. They provided us with bottles of water during our stay, which is also what we had to use to do our washing up - There is no place to wash up your dishes - The toilets and showers are in the glamping area, which was fine, but it would be nice to have some closer to the pitch your own area as well - Certain items at the bar were very expensive. It cost us £5 for a coffee and a store bought croissant in the morning. Overall it was a nice place, but not great for pitch your own. It would be lovely to see some improvements to the pitch your own section of the campground next year.

Great site for back to basics camping

Jul 2019

Liked Wonderful quiet and private campsite with own private dry toilet, table, and fire pit. There are no cars allowed on the camping field, which makes it feel even calmer. There is a gas-heated outdoor shower which was very refreshing. There are no sinks or running water, as it is a rustic/wild campground, however, we liked this aspect of it! Staff was friendly and helpful and came to check in with us a few times to make sure all was well. We had a great time!

From the manager: Hi thanks for the great review, however people are now turning up with their own water now! There are 4 mains drinking water water taps on site- so no need to bring water.

Nice campsite, easy going and well kept

Jun 2016

Liked We had a lightly wooded area to camp in with our tents, which was a nice change from the usual open field camping so common in the UK. There was a horse field behind our pitch and we could hear them at night - it was lovely. Bathrooms were spacious and clean, lots of showers to choose from and they were never full. Little store had everything you could need. A gate entry with a pass made it feel nice and secure.

Disliked You can only have a fire in a rented pit for 12pounds a night, plus then you have to pay for charcoal for burning - no wood allowed. A bit of a bummer.

From the manager: Many thanks for leaving a review. We do appreciate it and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. With regard to the fire baskets you are very welcome to use your own but we do not allow logs to be burn't as they spit and create a lot of smoke, instead we allow wood briquettes to be burn't. These are compacted wood pellets which burn well and create a lot of heat without the smoke. We sell these on the park or you can provide your own. We charge £12 per night for the hire of the basket including all the fuel and then subsequently £8 per night for additional night. We really hope to see you on the park again in the near future and thanks again for the review.
