Bude, Cornwall, England
Electric optional gravel touring pitch
Liked A great site. We have a big Motorhome so the site is highly accessible. It’s about 10 minutes drive into Bude.
The site has lovely pitches arranged around a central open area. It feels so spacious. There are lots of seasonal campers but this makes the site so friendly.
The facilities for the ladies are good with hot powerful showers. There was sinks and mirrors as well as a full length mirror which were helpful.
It has washing machines and sinks for washing up too.
There isn’t a dog walk so you need to walk around the site but this was fine as we could drive to the beach in 10 minutes.
Sadly the restaurant was closed but were told this before we went.
Disliked To be fair we didn’t really dislike anything. We loved it. The only improvement we could ask for is plugs in the sinks in the gents toilets, this would be helpful for wet shaves.

Electric hardstanding and grass touring pitch
Liked A clean site with adequate facilities.
Easily accessed from the motorway.
Great if you like fishing.
Disliked We wanted to walk to Bicester and the advert on pitch up said that was possible but we were advised that the roads had no paths and it was dangerous. Our motor home is too big to drive there so we were disappointed. Must stress nothing bad about the campsite just the advert. It is very isolated.

Liked Nice and quiet. Lovely animals close by. Lovely big pitches. Allowed to have bbq and fire pits. Friendly owners. Most pitches are fairly level.
Disliked The toilets were clean some days but other days they were horrific! It’s not really the owners it’s the dirty people using them! Maybe an extra clean when the site has several campers.

Non-electric grass tent or motorhome pitch
Liked The site is set in a little working farm setting with spectacular views into Penzance and the surrounding coast. It’s a walkers dream with so many gorgeous walks. I highly recommend the Baker’s Pit walk.
Accessibility to the site is good and the lanes are not narrow or tricky. The site is on a slope so bring your chocks!
The two showers and two toilets are spotlessly clean but there is occasionally a wait to use them. The building is a converted dairy and it still has the testing stickers for the machinery on the walls as a tip to the history of the building. There is an old butler’s sink in here but it is only cold water. There is also a fridge and freezer you can use. There are charge points and a secure cupboard to charge valuables in.
The camp site is linked to the toilet block by a short off road passage it’s just a very short walk.
There are no designated pitches so can park where you please. We did worry about keeping our pitch but it was fine.
Nicola who runs the site was lovely. We called her when we arrived and she popped to help us sort out. A really positive lady who wants you to enjoy the site.
Disliked There is no hot water sink. Hopefully as a future project a solar panel and heater would sort this. However we have a kettle so not really an issue just an idea.

Liked Everything was fantastic here! Possibly the best site we have stayed on. If Carlsberg did sites for us, well this is it.
We loved the site, the pitches, the fantastic toilets and the hot rainfall drop showers, the hair dryers and the highest level of cleanliness. The pitches were sloping but we have chocks for our camper van so no problem.
There is a van (it’s really cute and posh not what I expected) that cooks breakfasts and food in the evenings. There is also a van (again so cute and rustic) that sells alcohol and drinks. The coffee from here is lush too. There is a little shop too that has the basics and lots of local yummy bits. You can even order a BBQ pack from the local butchers to be delivered!
We were lucky enough to be there for a live music night. Perfect!
Around about you can walk to Perranporth 3 different ways. We did two of them and they were lovely. The coastal walk is stunning!!! Breathtakingly beautiful.
So now why we think it’s even better than other sites… we have dogs. 3 dogs and this place is their dream place. They have a dog shower, that’s is available for everyone to use. So handy when the dogs have been on the beach. They also have an enclosed dog exercise field where dogs can go off lead. We pay £12 an hour at home for this and barely paid more for our pitch!
The lady who we dealt with Levi, was just as lovely as the site. She was helpful and told us all where to go around and about.
Fantastic site!

Electric hardstanding and grass pitch
Liked Generous pitches. Well planned out spaces.
Clean well stocked bathrooms.
Disliked Difficult to find from the road. Very little signage.
Needed better lighting at night as only one light on the gate.
No one was there at reception and despite us calling no one came. Luckly a lovely man who was a guest at the park helped us with where things were etc. It would be a good idea to have a 'what to do when you arrive' leaflet or an email maybe.
