The site is flat and has well laid out pitches.
Toilet and shower blocks were clean and showers worked well enough although you have to keep the push button pressed in to maintain a water flow.

We chose this site because it stated that there is a pub nearby when in fact the local pub was closed and barrierd off. We were very disappointed and think the web site needs updating to reflect this.

The Site was excellent, the pitches were roomy and good distances apart. The toilet and shower block were near by and cleaned every day so was absolutely spotless. The owners were on hand and they had a blackboard with lists of events happening in the area. It was the Queen's jubilee the week we were there and the events were all listed which was very helpful. There are plenty of fishing lakes and walks around the lakes. There is also cafe on site. Didn't use it but it was pretty busy with other campers and the fishermen.
The site was also very quiet and pieceful. I would recommend this as an excellent site and well located for the tourist attractions and the A1 motorway network.

Nothing to dislike all perfect.

Loved the location, within easy reach of main roads and east coast. Loved the space, peace, cleanliness, on site cafe and staff, easy check in, even pitch, in fact there were nothing we didn't like!

A very well cared for site tended to by the friendly owners. High standard shower and toilet facilities. Very popular with the fishing community. We will certainly return.

Having to leave!

A very quiet, pleasant site. Although directly primarily to guests interested in fishing, it's also ideal for non-fishers looking for a peaceful environment. The network of fishing lakes has also created a lovely habitat for wildlife, so the trees were full of birds and the general atmosphere very tranquil.

The facilities were clean and well-maintained and we enjoyed our one-night stay. Although we were just passing through, the site would be a good base to explore the surrounding area, being just a few minutes from Thirsk and within easy reach of the moors.

Location, site , clean and tidy

We have had a walk around the lakes before when friends have stayed at the oaks And it was so peaceful we decided to book up for a night. Unfortunately we weren’t able to camp on our booked date so will deffo be booking again over the summer for a weekend of relaxation x
