Accommodation here is in smart modern cabins crafted from natural materials and blending well into their surroundings. Guests are encouraged to slow down, enjoy some quiet time in the eco-friendly swimming pool, walk along local trails and gaze up into the spectacular starry skies by night. As it’s set on the edge of the village of Cenlle, it’s also easy for guests to support local families by dropping in to the village’s bar and restaurant, and consuming ‘zero-mile’ produce from the area.
Each of the stylish lodges here sleeps up to four in a good deal of comfort and style, with an ensuite bathroom, a kitchen and both air conditioning and heating to make sure you’re able to stay at a comfortable temperature. There’s space to relax outdoors as well, and you’re welcome to bring your dog along to enjoy the surroundings too.
It may be somewhat away from the country’s main tourist trails, but this area has plenty to offer in terms of things to do – especially if you’re in search of authentic attractions. Medieval towns, castles, small museums and thermal springs may well make their way onto your schedule – and no doubt you’ll be in for some tasty food and local wine along the way too.

Local attractions
To get to know a little of the area’s heritage, perhaps start in Ribadavia (10 minutes’ drive), where you can wander through the historic town centre, visit the medieval castle and learn about traditional culture at the Museo Etnolóxico. You can also step a bit further back into the past at Parque Arqueolóxico da Cultura Castrexa de San Cibrao de Las, centred around a restored hillfort, or dip into one of the area’s top products at Museo do Viño de Galicia (five minutes).
Ourense (25 minutes) is a wonderful place to explore – check out the cathedral, the Montealegre Botanical Garden and the 12th-century bridge before taking time to explore the city’s thermal springs. Roman-era As Burgas is the most famous, but there are several dotted around, with the Ruta Termal walk connecting many of them.
If you’ve got little ones to entertain, make a beeline for Ourense’s Carrileiros Foula, a small amusement park where you can ride on the miniature trains.
